God Given Passion.
"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ." - Colossians 3:23-24
Things that we involve ourselves in usually have about 3 things that determine how important they are to us.
1. Temporary
2. Seasonal
3. Lifetime
The temporary stuff gathers our attention, but only for a period of time, which can also play into even seasonal things. But those lifetime things that we involve in, are usually our passions; our life long desires or dreams that we want to accomplish.
In our passions, we sacrifice time, relationships, and even our spiritual relationship/s to give our all to that thing. Through our journeys of chasing these passions or fully thriving in them, we tend to lose focus. We focus on the now of everything. The "live fast, die young" mantra. But not really realizing that everything we were given, whether its a talent, a passion, a drive, were given from the creator Himself.
We must never forget that in this life, as Jesus' servants, that we work for a greater purpose. We can even look at the example's that Paul gave us in scripture.
"Everything in Word and Deed" - (Col. 3:17)
"Only let each person lead the life that the Lord has assigned to him, and to which God has called him."- (1 Cor. 7:17)
We must never forget that. Even the smallest of passions, that we must never overlook them as just our livelihood. But realize that this was given to us, by our maker, to give glory back to Him and to always represent Him, who is greater than ourselves.
