i haven't been around here much and i miss you all lots. i lost my cat recently and wow, uh, the pain. i'm sure a lot of you know how hard it is to deal with this kind of loss, but it's the kind that just doesn't really go away. i see him and hear him everywhere. every time i turn the corner i still kind of expect him to be there. he always greeted me when i came home. he was the mayor of yap city, and a cuddly little fellow, and so so silly, and it hurts so badly that i'll never be able to see him again.

on top of this and starting a new semester, life has been a lot, and i'm so sorry i've been away. i love you and miss you and i've been slowly but surely getting back into writing - i hope to share something, even if it's small, soon. thank you all for being so fucking kind and patient, i love you to the moon and back 🤍

So today I was at this one thrift store I really love because it actually has good quality clothes I can buy and it's all like vintage-y. And I went with my mom because we were walking home together and I told her they had this really cute outfit there that was a sweater and a skirt it was like mint/turqoise and it was literally the cutest! It gave like 50's secretary... and since it was a few months back that I saw it I assumed it had already been sold so I didn't have much hope for finding it. And no I did not find it but the lady that works there (who by the way is such a diva, she fixes the clothes herself and has the best store music) said they must've already packed it for the spring. And she's so nice she promised to find it for me and when I come back in two weeks I can get it! Gosh that's exciting! I didn't get myself any nice clothes in a while (I got a pair of trousers a few months ago but that's because I had too since I literally didn't have any??? Like only my mom's from the 1990's?!) and no it's not me being irresponsible with my money I'VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT THAT OUTFIT FOR MONTHS

Guys...I have some news. Remember last year when I was all sad about getting rejected from all the schools? Well...I now got ACCEPTED INTO GRAD SCHOOL!

I will be attending Grad School for a Masters in Vocal Performance this coming fall!

I found a school that I liked- and they gave me an acceptance email TWO DAYS after I auditioned! It has a voice teacher I like, and she regularly emailed me saying I should go since it would be a good fit. I was waiting on one other school I auditioned for and they said yes, but said school they would have no money so I said no to them and yes to school A.

I finally got into one! It will involve getting my first apartment (which terrifies me! But I know I have to do it!) and it has taken me six years and one pandemic to get into one I liked that seemed to want me there and would be in an affordable place with a nice voice teacher- but I did it!

Tagging people to celebrate with me! Thanks for letting me cry and scream through the process and write to escape and cope!

So we got on offer on the house (that was more than asking price so we can definitely pay off my major medical debt) so it's official now; we're moving to San Antonio, Texas!

I'm very excited. Some career stuff that I've been working on developing for years now is coming together and will be much more accessible once we're in a bigger home. I'm making sure the only stuff I gotta do is office space setup. I'm seriously so pumped. Only a year ago I struggled with my therapist about not being able to see how I made it into my 30s and now here I am actually planning for it! I don't think I can even express how emotional that makes me.

I'll talk more about my plans in a bit cause I'll definitely be reaching out to y'all for opinions (I have 2 sign up type sheets I'm gonna need to make so stay tuned). But! If you're in Texas I would love to chat and maybe even plan a meet up! The only people I know out there are my Aunt and her kid and one friend (who we've kinda fallen out of talking).

i’ve been sO organised this weekend bc i go back to work this week so i’ve made sure i’m all prepped food-wise, for as low-maintenance a week as possible. 

i had these recipes for a healthy version of both pancakes and waffles (bc my new waffle maker!!), so i made i’ve those yesterday and today respectively (they were both amazing) and i’ve got leftovers from both. I’ve got some healthy breakfast cookies in the oven rn and i think they’re gonna be good to like add to whatever else i’m eating for breakfast on any given day. i’ve got plenty of fruit i can use for smoothies too. i got a jar of cooked lentils from nonna yesterday so i’ve just made some rice that i can mix in and that should cover most of my lunches for the week, and i’ve set the meal delivery service for this week too so that’ll cover dinner for every day i’m working. then i’ll probably try one of my 5000 bookmarked recipes for dinner at the end of the week when i can shop etc.

i also talked to both nonna and dad about not visiting every week anymore. nonna is a powerhouse of guilt-tripping and insecurity so i’ve already had to re-explain it to her twice, and also try and convince her that it wasn’t because she did anything wrong, i was just so exhausted. but it’s impossible to make her understand that my level of commitments and responsibility is different from when i was 20, a student, and living at home with both parents lol so. i expect i’ll be re-explaining that one for the rest of my life. dad understood tho, and he seemed keen to come see us on the weeks we don’t visit which is a) excellent for me bc i don’t need to go out of my way to see him and b) means maybe he can do one of the dozen things around our house he’s needed to do for a year, but never done bc he’s never here lol.

i’m gonna try and set my alarms a bit earlier on work mornings bc normally i give myself about 50 mins to roll out of bed, get myself and my food ready and sometimes do a 10 min ab workout, and i think i should try a little harder to pace my mornings lol. it might do me good. so i’m gonna set it incrementally earlier and give it a go.
