Lobco feels small and helpless.
To think that something like this could happen---for all her worrying and nagging to actually hear of what had befallen her witch was upturning her world. Lobco wouldn’t think on this subject more, to focus so much on her failure as a familiar would be to make Chlomaki’s pain about her but...
It was hard not to feel that guilt.
Who had been the one to save her? Not any of them, the familiars appointed to that duty, but the Daimajo. Lobco didn’t know the details and she figured that she could get them from Chlomaki herself. They’d all been brought to the Great Witch’s abode--a rather predictably ancient castle. That one really did like to living up to the reputation, didn’t she? It was no mystery where Chlomaki had gotten it from.
Lobco stopped before the door to Chlomaki’s room, curled and uncurled her hand before knocking.
“Lady Chlomaki?”
