I've been gone Too Long.
Arte watched as a disembodied spirit as Life healed the broken girl of her wounds. The car crash had left the girl with injuries that no living being would be able to heal properly from...
And yet, here Life was doing just that.
Smiling, Arte started invoking her own incarnation...preparing the body for her entrance.
They work together for several minutes before Life finally stops and looks up at her. She smiles at him as he reaches out a hand towards her. This was it. Now or never.
She takes his hand...
And gasps awake.
Physical. Whole. New.
She looks around and Life is staring down at her, tears in his eyes. She bolts up, wrapping her arms around him and holding him close and tight.
"Thank you..." She says in a new and unfamiliar voice...though not unpleasant. She already likes the sound.
So help me...
I am getting out of here.
