Hibiscus Moment

Words are not needed or spoken...we are together again...her black hair so long, flowing across her slender shoulders...her silhouette sleek, extending across the water in the iridescent light...

A glance from her eyes sparkling like sapphires set my heart racing...

The smell of her familiar perfume brought memories of us together back into stark focus...I thought I had lost her but tonight she stood before me in surreal splendor...the floral notes playing in my memories...her lithe figure beckoning me forward...

My mind flooded with our past shared mutual passion...remembrance of deep lingering kisses under the moonlight by the lake...this very lake...our bodies entwined together in tight embrace...The soft warm breeze against our skin, moist from the tropical air...seems like yesterday...

A stirring of deep desire takes me deep inside the heart...two lovers separated for a time...regrets, mistakes, lessons learned...pain of stupidity, words spoken in haste...repentance...reunion...I am longing now, yearning, for what was lost...wantonness takes hold of us both...two lovers needing to be one...again...

Life presents moments...rare, if ever moments to be had...chances to be taken...I will not lose this time around...together by the same lake we stood only a few years ago...Would she want the same as I? Her eyes give her away...her movements are subtle but unmistakable...The silence between our mutual gaze speaks loudly to me...I do not hesitate at all...

My restraint is readily abandoned...I am lost in my need to feel her warm skin in my arms...I move forward toward my love...Pressing my mouth instinctively upon her waiting lips...the past nor tonight will not deny us our destiny...

Time must make way for our encounter...unforgettable fire is being unleashed in our rapturous pleasure...words, images communicated without sound...just murmurs of ecstasy...my nostrils fill with her hibiscus scent in that singular eternal moment...

In case you’re wondering what it’s been like, these past 2 & 1/4 years, it’s been a lot. Today, 30 Jan 2021, was the first day in that span that felt, in my estimation, somewhat normal. Which is not to say that there was an abundance of normalcy, but it was pretty ok. We went to target for the 800th time & I was breathing the entire hour we were shopping. And then we went to Barnes & Noble, b/c calendars don’t grow on Mulberry trees, & no children ran around the store screaming - it was a parallel universe, if ever one existed. The journey is long & the healing process is slow, and we know that the daily struggle is worth it - even if we don’t accept that in each moment. We are blessed to have these amazing spirits/souls/girls in our lives - and hopefully they will feel the same, as they mature into young adults. We don’t have it all figured out, we don’t really have anything figured out, but we wake up every day & do our best to give them the opportunity to grow & learn & love, & that’s enough, for now. Ok... we went for a drive to check in on the properties & see how construction was coming along & out of the clear blue sky, I smelled chicken, fried chicken, & I said, that smells delightful, I think I’ll go home and fry some chicken thighs, and Roger & MamaCat & Jack said “Hey, how ‘bout you throw us a little sumpin-sumpin & nobody gets hurt” - so it goes, the cats run this place. GTO ragtop, very nice. 😏 a cool down in the creek, after which, the astronaut said to her sister, “My God, Are we gonna be like our parents”?
