The Indonesian island of Sumatra holds some of the most diverse tropical forests on the planet. The Tropical Rainforest Heritage of Sumatra has been raised by UNESCO and IUCN since 2004. The protected area is home of an estimated 10,000 plant species, more than 200 mammal species & some 580 bird species. Sumatra Rainforest covers approximately 2,595,124hectares, which comprise one of the biggest conservation areas in Southeast Asia.
