WELCOMING NEW AMBASSADOR STEVEN TINNELL TO THE TEAM!
Q 1: What do you think of when you hear #LiveLifeProof?
A 1: To me #LiveLifeProof means pushing the limits both physical and mental in whatever it is you do. This can be climbing the mountain, hitting the jump or something more creative like trying that new photo technique.
A 2: The thing that inspires me most are others out there following their dreams without a spotlight. There are tons of people out there every day making first descents on crazy mountains and learning new tricks without anyone knowing. They are doing it for themselves and themselves alone.
Q 3: What’s one memory you’ll never forget?
A 3: My never-forgetting memory would have to be my first long term trip. When I decided to move into a travel trailer for three months and explore 14,000 miles of road around the U.S. and Canada while capturing the landscapes and people enjoying them in very different and diverse ways.
Q 4: What keeps you motivated?
A 4: Motivation has always been a hard thing for me. One day I am on top of my game and the next week I can barely muster the energy to get out of bed. The happiness that people can get out of my work is one thing that keeps me motivated. The best thing about photographing such incredible sports is that it contributes to someone somewhere snowboarding or skateboarding for the first time and it can potentially open an otherwise closed off world to someone young or old.
Q 5: What’s your favorite thing about exploring?
A 5: Meeting like-minded individuals. We are a family and we don’t even know each others names until that moment. We lead very different lives at home potentially but out there in the world doing new and exciting things and discovering new and exciting places we are the same for a moment and we all grasp some comfort in that.
Q 6: What quote do you live by?
A 6: “When it comes down it, it’s pretty simple. Adventure is what you make it. And whether it’s the travel, the discovery of just the feeling of letting go, the only way we’ll ever find out is to get out there and do it. Enjoy the Ride” – Travis Rice
Q 7: What are your goals and aspirations for the future?
A 7: My current goals are to go freelance in photography while staying true to the action sport industries. Exploration no matter the vehicle you use to get there is a priority in this world and whether that is an urban landscape via a skateboard or a snowy one via a snowboard I tend to motivate as many people out there to pick something and learn a new way of life.
Q 8: Which one word describes you the most: water, dirt, snow, drop (proof)?
A 8: Snow. Well, snow was the first thing I knew when it came to exploration. I was able to ride a chairlift and see parts of a mountain during the winter that had before then, been just a myth in my eyes. As I got older I started to appreciate the fading beauty of a white-blanketed mountain and I vowed to enjoy them and protect them for the rest of my life and inspire others to as well.
“I am an outdoor enthusiast that loves participating in the snow, bike and skate industries. Action Sports aren’t just sports. They are an art in which the tools are a board, bike or even your feet. You can create timeless masterpieces with these tools and form a memory unmatched. As photographers and videographers we aim to share that art with anyone willing to look in an attempt to preserve it and help it grow.”
