Life with Coco - Day 4

Coca-Cola is so active most of the time that I can’t keep up with her! Whenever I pet her, she sees my hand moving and tries to catch it and bite it. But her teeth are so tiny that it doesn’t even hurt!

She found a new toy today - my sock!

She’s really loving it. Probably because it looks just like a dead, floppy rat. She brought it to us looking for praise, and it was hilarious praising her for killing a dead sock!

We’re still trying to figure out the perfect feeding schedule for Coco. We even went through three different feeding bowls! We just used our bowls at first, then got her a cheap ceramic bowl from Walmart. But then we went to Ikea and saw the cutest plastic bowls and just had to get it for her! Coco gets her own placemat too. Even better treatment than we get! (We don’t even have a dining table yet, and have been eating on the floor...)

Life with Coco - Day 3

Baby’s first visit to the vet!

She jumped off the observation table as soon as we put her on there, and that thing was freaking tall! I think it’s because it was cold and her paws are used to the warm carpet in the apartment.

Overall, the vet said she’s fine and gave her a dewormer. We couldn’t tell how old she was though. The old owner told us three months, but this little peanut definitely isn’t three months old. The people at the clinic collectively agreed that she’s about 8 weeks old, and so her birthday is now 6/15/15.

After her vaccines, she got so super sleepy! Isn’t she the cutest?

Life with Coco - Day 2

Dammit, Coco has fleas. Her previous owner must not have taken good care of the kitties, because she’s covered in the damn things. No wonder she’s been uncomfortable and scratching so much!

The vets aren’t open today, so we bought some flea shampoo and gave her a bath. She hated it. She kept trying to jump out of the bathtub, which was impressive for such a teensy little thing! So we had to cover her with a laundry hamper... Looks like animal abuse, huh?

Danny spent hours combing her with a flea comb so now she loves him more ):

Life with Coco - Day 1

We got a kitty! We picked her up from her momma’s house, where there were three kittens total. Picking one out of the three to bring home was the hardest thing to do! They were all so tiny and playful and the most adorable things ever.

Coco became our choice when she started swinging at our hands with her paws. Yup, it was more like she chose us. Bringing her on the three hour ride home wasn’t fun, and we were worried she was hot or cold or whatever kitties get. It’s nerve-wracking having your first cat!

She’s still scared though. I hope she gets used to us soon!

Oh, so her full name is Coca-Cola, Cola or Coco for short. We originally went through Charcoal and Smoky, but none of those stuck...
