A Part of History
The Peterborough Lift Locks, located in Peterborough, Ontario, are an impressive feat of engineering and a significant part of Canada's historic Trent-Severn Waterway. Completed in 1904, these locks raise and lower boats over 20 meters (65 feet) a unique hydraulic lift system. Visitors enjoy stunning views from the top of the locks and learn about their history at the nearby visitor center.
