I made this grid for the light assignment. I combined the first four photos to create the last one. They are pictures of the Hindu Temple in Lemont. I thought the buildings were beautiful and knew I had to take pictures of it, respectfully of course. I tried to arrange the pieces from each photo cohesively, so the entire picture looked well put together. I made four “pieces” longer that take up more space to create some variation instead of all perfectly square pieces.
This was a photo for the light assignment. For this particular photo, I had to create an overlay with two different photos. The first photo is the original before the overlay, and the second one is the finished photo. I used an image of a colorful pot that I found in Lemont to put over the bridge. I wanted it to look very bright and psychedelic, and I think it does. I made sure I erased the overlay from the bridge, since that was the main focal point. I also erased the path that leads towards the “viewer” of the photo so it looks like you’re going towards and onto the bridge.
These two photos were taken for the light assignment. We had to capture how different sources of light affect the subject of your photo. I believe these two photos are successful and am happy with the way they turned out. The first photo was supposed to be abstract. To do this, I took an image of a pole at the corner of a store and distorted it by cutting out pieces and shifting them to the left or to the right. I also added a filter in Photoshop that duplicated the pole and placed it to the right and blurred it. With all of these adjustments, the photo came out looking very abstract, as was the point. With the second photo, I had to put three different filters on a photo as well as add a frame. I chose this photo because I thought that using many filters would enhance it better than some of my other photos, where too many filters could wash the photo out. I believe it is successful because the filters really make the photo pop, and it looks better than it did before the enhancements.
The light inspired me to take this photo because of the way it it reflecting off of the door handle. You can see the gold, warm glow from the sun on the handle, which gives the picture a soft feel to it.
What inspired me to take this photo was the way the sun in shining through the curtains. The way the sun is trying to break through the grey clouds gives the photo nice lighting.
The light enhances the photo by creating shadows on his face creating an oval of light on his face. The early morning light creating an atmosphere that shrouds the man in a calming light
The uniqueness of the tree stump made me want to take the picture, the interesting curves, knots and holes. The way the early morning light hits the stump creates different colors makes it interesting.
