All who are faithful will see the Lord...
Got up early this morning, before the rest of the house started stirring. Had the chance to open my heart in prayer. I dearly wish to be the kind of mother my sweet children need and deserve. I pray to know our Father in Heaven's will for our little family and how I can bring it to pass... I want the Savior to be the center of our home and for my daughters to see him reflected in their mom. A quickly passing thought (one I might have missed if I was not calm and quiet) led me to D & C 93 this morning. In a very simple and comforting way, these are the verses that caught a hold of me when I read it through a second time.
Section 93: 1, 19-20, 35-37 & 40
1 Verily, thus saith the Lord: It shall come to pass that every soul who forsaketh his sins and cometh unto me, and calleth on my name, and obeyeth my voice, and keepeth my commandments, shall see my face and know that I am;
19 I give unto you these sayings that you may understand and know how to worship, and know what you worship, that you may come unto the Father in my name, and in due time receive of his fulness.
20 For if you keep my commandments you shall receive of his fulness, and be glorified in me as I am in the Father; therefore, I say unto you, you shall receive grace for grace.
35 The elements are the tabernacle of God; yea, man is the tabernacle of God, even temples; and whatsoever temple is defiled, God shall destroy that temple.
36 The glory of God is intelligence, or, in other words, light and truth.
37 Light and truth forsake that evil one.
40 But I have commanded you to bring up your children in light and truth.
How great and comforting are these words, these promises? I am so grateful to a Father in Heaven who not only wants us to return to Him, but who lays out the path so clearly so that we might know the way. That we can learn "know how to worship, and know what you worship" so that we can receive His fullness and learn of him - grace for grace! The promise: If we forsake our sins, come unto him, call on his name, obey his voice and keep his commandments - we can see his face! Grateful.
