L was thankful for the darkness that consumed the room, because, otherwise, Light would have seen him flinch at his words. After a moment of total silence, he reached out, brushing his fingers against the male’s cheek. He could practically hear his heart pounding away in his chest.
“Light,” he began, cursing just how vulnerable he sounded. “I do not wish for this to be about Kira or the case. I...I am stating my own selfish desires.” His voice was barely a whisper, as if he feared frightening Light, or even himself. “I have little to none in ‘happy memories.’ My life was a dull progression of events, until you came into it.”
He paused, now running his thumb against Light’s skin, relishing how soft it was. “All I ask is that you let me forget it all, just for one night. Let me have this, Light. Allow me to indulge myself in the delusion of normal-ness. Afterwards, you can forget this. I won’t bug you with my emotions any further, you have my word.”
L hesitated once more before leaning in, barely even brushing Light’s lips with his own. “Please.”
