Where are the black recovering colorists at? Let’s admit it, most of us were all colorist at some point. The real question is, are you consciously colorist? Subconsciously colorist? Or a recovering colorist?

"The reason this scene always stood out to me was that it addressed so many feelings and stereotypes about black women through an entertaining musical number. The idea of being a “wannabe” because of your lighter skin or a “jigaboo” because of your nappier hair. The imagery of the lighter skin girls holding up masks of “Mammie” and the darker skin girls holding up masks of “Uncle Tom’s” showcases the deep-rooted hurt that colorism has played." #race #culture #colorism #darkgirls #lightgirls #blackness https://www.instagram.com/p/B-ZvnIBJCyw/?igshid=133qkjo3wu29x

Are any other light girls concerned about reaching an unattainable standard of Afrocentric beauty?
