Talking about my writing with Lightning: only crumbs, only the tiniest slivers of spoilers. if I say too much then I will never write anything ever
Talking about my writing with Xavier: so this is the entire plot, these are the characters and their entire backstories that will slowly be revealed throughout the series, these are the big plot twists, what do you think?
Yo bitch (/lh) what are your opinions on Brutasha
eh
I mean like it was a little cute I guess but it was pretty forced. also I hate the "we're both monsters" thing all bc NAT can't have kids like can we pls stop making that a thing in media? not being able to have kids doesn't make you evil or a monster
anyway, one point in the “Lightning isn’t a villain” counter
@thedragonemperess remember Fianna calling Tony a glorified deadbeat babysitter in the discord? lmao
I'm actually in love with this roleplaying and would love to do some more!!
Last individual post of the episode, and this definitely isn’t the first time I’ve seen someone bring this to attention, but absolutely file this under “Character Arcs They Should’ve Done” because much as I love Lightning, he absolutely deserved a proper subplot of his own!
cameron?
( rate the character/ship. )
Overall: 9!
Talk about the last character I would’ve guessed to be a finalist while watching Revenge. I thought for sure it was going to be Scott versus Mike. But, honestly? I’m so glad Cameron made it all the way to the end, because he did his damn best to get there.
If there’s one thing that All-Stars did right, it’s reminding me how much I liked Cameron to begin with, because I really, really do. Even if I don’t agree with where a lot of his story beats took him, he’s a character that works well off a variety of other cast members, and that strength really shows when his interactions with original cast members feel very organic and honestly refreshing in the mix of the Villainous Vultures. Of course, by now it’s obvious I’m a sucker for characters that are just genuinely nice, but I think Cameron’s appeal goes beyond that. Or, actually, I think his appeal is that he is nice, but also distinctly trying to keep up and not be underestimated despite everything. He tries to help, but he also shows several times that he’s willing to stand up and protect himself, even if it doesn’t always work. He’s a fish out of water underdog constantly trying not to be swept away in the chaos, and he learns and adapts and while he makes some rather calculated and bordering on harsh calls (some of his dialogue with Mike can be a bit eyebrow-raising, and while Sierra is extreme he’s also willing to throw her under the bus a little to save himself) he also has a good heart at the end of the day.
His and Mike and Zoey’s dynamic is a really sweet thing in between all the cruelty of Revenge. I genuinely think his dynamic with Lightning is severely underrated and underutilized, and one of the few things I do take issue with. Lightning has just as much of a reason to be in the finale as he does, and has a lot more riding on his shoulders-- why is he set up as the bad guy, again? When they’re shown to get along fine up until the finale?
But, overall, a really sweet and likeable kid with a lot more bite to his interactions than I think people give him credit for. Also, he’s just kind of adorable, and while I don’t think it’s fair Lightning was played off as the villain in the finale Cameron definitely earned himself that ending, too.
also maybe it's just because I haven't seen Revenge in a while, but I think it's majorly unfair to consider Lightning a "villain" for the finale episode? He still had legitimate reasons for wanting to win, and arguably had a lot more at stake than Cameron ever did???? Cameron proved himself by just making it that far and developing/owning his own strengths; Lightning had a huge public bet riding on his shoulders???
