New surroundings were bothersome. Especially more bothersome, when one is especially quite new to a place like this. They weren’t quite summoned, nor sensed any contract binding them to someone. Yet, they were here in a city full of unknowns – to add salt to the injury, memories intact of her death. They could consider being many things — with a full range of emotions but they don’t act upon it. It’d be foolish to even try, even if their grief wasn’t quite so apparent. Alas, how would anyone decipher how a magic book feels? Perhaps it was a blessing that they took this form. Although it wasn’t quite convenient, when it came to it, as in being handed a heavy dictionary half its size. The sheer ridiculousness of it all was even given one. What would they even use it for? A sheer mockery maybe, and the fact they couldn’t even carry it.They suppose they could just leave at the side… – huh? There’s someone… something watching them?​

“Eh?”

Fudou’s steps come to a pause, while he takes a moment to glance between the trees. He had just seen movement...right? He’s positive of it. Mostly. The forest is a little spooky, though, especially when you’re stuck waiting there as a lookout--too bad nothing is probably going to even come of that job.

...no. There it was again. What was that?

Against his better judgment, he leaves the trail to start weaving through the bamboo. It doesn’t take more than a few steps before a streak of yellow finally crosses his vision.

“Whoa there, slow down will ya.”

It’s an animal of some sort, definitely, but he can’t get a good look at it.

After a few more almost-sightings, he finally pulls a candy bar out of his pocket and peels open the wrapper on one end while kneeling.

“Oi, little guy. Ya hungry?”
