— when it comes to Ivan and Romantic ships, I obviously have a thing for oc x Ivan aka Leona and Ivan. My tragic duo 🥺💔. There’s also the crack ship Jana and I have discussed is JudexIvanxLayla which I also enjoy and the less crack of cymbie and Ivan. And I’d be remiss if I forgot about gildvan! And the fun part of all of these is that I also like the non romantic sides, too!

Tbh im more than down to ship anything as long as the muns and I are on the same page about it. He’s an interesting guy with a complicated relationship with his sense of self and family.

Overall: In my head Ivan is a goth bi dad who is also demisexual. He doesn’t think it’s at all relevant to himself as 99% of the time he considers the romance chapter of his life closed (lmao) so there’s no reason for him to mention it. The only time the fact he’s bi comes up is when he’s asked or if someone calls him straight. He doesn’t like people just assuming things about him.

being in a guild was ... well, there was a lot more around than he was sued to. but it wasn't as cramped as he expected the lifestyle to be. and it was less noisy than expected. which was an absolute plus for him. there as that neil guy who kept looking him up and down that annoyed lyon, so he opted for one of the tables in the guild as far away as possible, but, there was one person there. it was certainly big enough for others. however, lyon didn't want to annoy one of the people here. he was still new.

"excuse me." his voice was steady, not too loud. his face was neutral as always. "is it alright if i sit here? i do not want to bother you." lyon did not want to go on about the whys. but he could feel the look from neil and it made him uncomfortable. "i'm lyon vastia, by the way. dynamic ice make mage." and that part, specifically his magic, was said with pride.

Fact about Logan: he used to be a martial arts teacher. After the war, he had to go on hiatus, due to having sustained some injuries that require rest for at least a year. He’s on hiatus✨

Although officially her magic does not rely much on physical strength, Carena enjoys a good workout. It helps her manage her stress levels, it makes her feel healthier and safer. She invests in her body, a lot. And while she was never a martial arts teacher, she has taken martial arts classes before the way the dynamic between her team and the guild developed in such a manner that she was barely in Magnolia to attend those classes. Since, it has been more sparring with her teammates and less 'organised' training. Still, the Raijinshuu sport a very low number of training accidents so they have that going for them.

though not exactly tall, cymbeline was tougher than a lot of people gave her credit for---and it was not just speed and agility that she could us to twist things to her advantage. she had been s-class for a reason. there were some people for whom ignoring her abilities had ended with a stint in jail, especially back when she had been a rune knight, but logan was at no risk of that. what he was, possibly, at risk of was bruised ribs, as she really was not exactly going easy on him.

come to think of it, she should perhaps reconsider the amount of pressure she was applying, he might be attached to his ribs. most people were.

she exhaled, shifting her weight away from his chest. the expression of smugness that had found its way to her face, on the other hand, remained where it was. she did have a bit of a competitive streak, it was just not often that she got to live it. it was . . . calming, the knowledge that she had a friend who understood that sometimes, a good spar could offer more relaxation than a spa day.

a long, drawn out sigh escaped ivan at the words and he closed his eyes. in his mind, he saw leona how he liked to imagine her. yellow leather jacket, huge chunky earrings she couldn't resist and a smile on her face. he preferred this than the last time he truly saw her, which was a cowardly move, sure but he hoped the spirits of bravery could forgive him not wanting to imagine her dead.

and logan had lost his wife as well. it was something that ivan had learned later, years after it happened. and though they were never the closest of friends, ivan had considered the man a friend at some point. if not, a friendly acquaintance. his wife, too. there would only be one name ivan would name under the 'deserved to die' and her name was not one of them. however, ivan had a suspicion logan would agree with him on The name. or perhaps ivan was just projecting.

"unfortunately, logan, i do." ivan said, quietly. he didn't like to talk about it at all. lost the words for it a long time ago. and yet, "i do."

i'll be honest, though i have been writing her for a bit, the only ship i have been developing much is graygreen with @resolvebound. that is not to say that i am uninterested in other ships, but i do think she is kind of hard to ship. i could see her with characters that are both smart and creative, that seems to appeal to her.

for cymbie:

my sweetheart, my daughter . . . married to her job. like i said in her rules, no one who's more than five years younger than her which is the majority of the cast. i never got the vibe from her that she's super invested / interested in romance, but platonically, i can see her close with gildarts and logan / @lightrallies. and jackie and i were chatting about a few things, too.

Fact: Logan goes through the 5 stages of grief when he can’t just pop off on someone who has deeply angered him

fact: despite the stereotype that fire mages are inherently hotheaded and prone to emotional outbursts, cymbie is very much resent and remember. she bides her time. often, when she feels offended, she files it away for later reference and seems perfectly fine more or less immediately after. however---those who know her well know that this silence is dangerous. it will come back at an inopportune time for the person who angered her to begin with.
