I’ve been really distracted all week, but here is a scene that I started in the Sith Fynta AU that is probably going somewhere fun. In this AU, Fynta refused to use a lightsaber for a long time, preferring her family beskad instead. @dingoat‘s Ahuska took pity on her one day and offered up a few lessons on how not to cut her own legs off.

“Sloppy,” Aric said from where he leaned against the door. Fynta looked up, lips pulled back in a snarl at having been caught in her clumsy attempts to remember Ahuska’s rushed lesson in saber use.
Straightening, Fynta glared at the Cathar through the stray hairs that had worked loose of her tie. Her chest ached from the effort of learning a new style while embarrassment burned through her blood. “What makes you the expert?”
Aric pushed away from the wall and padded into the room. He wore the clingy bodysuit that his armor fitted over, bare feet moving across the floor in silence. He stopped in front of Fynta, glacial eyes roving over her body in a way that made the room feel several degrees warmer. When he found her face again, his lips twisted into a grimace. “Who taught you how to fight?”
Eyes narrowed, Fynta stiffened her spine. “I learned on something heavier than energy weapons.” She hefted the dual hilt, balanced perfectly across the pad of her finger. “I know it’s the same movements, but my muscles are overcompensating.”
“Yeah,” Aric agreed. “You’re shit with that in a fight. Going to get us both killed.”
