Looking at it logically, Yusaku had to admit that the other one was right with these words. He had been fighting for his life for so long, just like Jin had, even if it had been in a completely different way. But it felt strange to realize that the fight actually was over now. That he had survived to be here. And the fact that someone else...that Ai had to die for him to be able to stand here...it still was something he wasn’t sure how to deal with. 

“It’s not like I expected it to be.” he admitted eventually, frowning. He never had known for sure what to do with his life. Maybe at some point he had thought about returning home once he got his revanche, but so much had changed since then.. 

“You got your life back too. What are you going to do with it?”

“Whoa !” By instinct, Tooru’s hand shoots out to hold onto her arm the moment she sways forward. “Clear the bench !” His captain voice comes out and almost instantaneously the other members from the club does as he says, making space for them.

“Are you alright ?? Do you want me to bring you to the infirmary instead?” He inquires as he supports her to the bench, getting her seated. A sheepish smile appears on the setter’s face. “I know tryouts are where you go all out but you should be careful too~”

Things surely hadn’t went exactly had planned, not really. If Yusaku was honest to himself, the biggest part of him had never wanted to return to Den City at all. And yet here he was and that simply because his family had told him he couldn’t run forever. Because Haruto had asked him to come with him. And most convincing fact... Ai had asked him to do so. Because after god knew how much time Yusaku had actually managed to find the traces from his lost partner. Actually had managed to get him and the Ignis back with the help of his kinda boyfriend and well... 

It was only fair to inform the others about this right? Even though Yusaku had like no plan where the other’s went. Most of all where Lightning went, but still.. this was kinda his mess so he should take responsibility for it once again, right? 

But once he reached the all to familiar Cafe Nagi, it wasn’t Kusanagi-san he spotted there, but Jin instead. in all the time Yusaku only had a few interactions with the other one, only visited her in the hospital with Shoichi a few times at the beginning of their joined hunt after Hanoi and yet... 

He couldn’t just turn around and run either, right? Taking a deep breath he shook his head slightly before closing the distance towards the truck. 

“Hey...” he still was bad at small talk, Ai didn’t even need to point that out. “It’s...it’s good to see you around.”  || @lightsorigin​

"Ah... I know tipping isn't too common in Japan but... "

Tsuki twiddled with his thumbs awkwardly before sliding the extra 500 yen back onto the money tray.

He still felt horrible for the awkward and rocky start they'd had. He knew very well that his looks were... Off-putting. And that maybe he was akin to a ghost. But to have someone react so harshly... It definitely left an impression that he couldn't shake.

Normally, he'd run away from such situation and vow to never visit Cafe Nagi ever again. But the coffee there was irresistible and so too were the hotdogs. (Besides, he'd have to come here for Masato's coffee either way)

So this was just a small attempt to show he wasn't harmful. If anything, he was quite the opposite.

"I thought it might be nice if you could go and maybe treat yourself...?"

Wait. Maybe that came out more creepy than he had intended. Did it sound like he was flirting? Or did he just make things even more awkward? Crumbling apart from his social ineptness, Tsuki's cheeks flushed red.

Ryoken never had been sure what to expect from meeting Kusanagi  Jin for the first time. Maybe it was the reason why he had actually tried to avoid it up until now. Besides the other one he had run into all his fathers victims up to this point, so it only had been a matter of time, honestly, but still... Ryoken knew the other had suffered under everything on a completely different level compared to the rest of them and looking at the fact how ready he’d been to sacrifice her in his duel against Lightning if Playmaker hadn’t been there... 

No, he never had seen himself as a hero. But he was surprised that she wasn’t calling him a monster right now, if she had more than enough reasons to do so. 

“So you think I’m broken?” he found himself asking eventually, eyes almost curiously on the other one. “It almost sounds like you’re defending me. I thought you’d have every reason to blame me.”
