the night of the blood moon had left izzy in lock down. silence had become her best friend because silence meant not having to deal with eiza;’s actions or her own. isabelle had willingly hidden a dead body, watched eliza murder someone with her bare teeth and she let her. isabelle didn’t just let her, she was hiding her away from the clave. isabelle needed to protect eliza. she knew this wasn’t her fault, she wasn’t in control of her actions. eliza would never willingly hurt anyone. she didn’t even want to be a shifter. but no matter how many times she tried to convince herself what she was doing was the right thing, isabelle still felt her insides turning upside down.
isabelle had just finished up an interrogration, the nephilim‘s going through the motions of the orders from the clave but her heart’s not in it. how can it be when she’s hiding away a bloodstained friend of hers and integrating innocent strangers? she hasn’t spoken to eliza, cole or aria since the moon. keeping her distance meant keeping them all safe. it keeps them all a secret. isabelle enters the computer room where alec is and a few other shadowhunters sifting through some paper work. isabelle tosses her own paperwork in front of ale, tired and worn from her ongoing emotions and worry. ‘ these are all dead ends. ’
