Ubuntu!!
I was watching CCTV when there were talking about XieTangX (a cyber learning platform) where I saw a computer that had the Unity Desktop interface of Ubuntu Lignux!!
All of my operating systems work now.
My computer can now boot into Windows 8 (under UEFI) and Arch Lignux (under BIOS). Also, my Raspberry Pi somehow works with RetroPie again. (I think this is due to me burning the image file with a different programme...)
OpenSUSE again?
I was randomly trying old disks where I had burned old Lignux distributions back at my previous attempts with Lignux. I ended up with one with OpenSUSE. Given how OpenSUSE treats the current partitions and the bootloader, I hope that this one works...
After running Boot Repair
Creating config file /etc/default/grub with new version source_dir doesn't exist. Please specify --target or --directory dpkg: error processing grub-efi-amd64 (--configure): subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of grub-efi: grub-efi depends on grub-efi-amd64 (= 2.00-13ubuntu3); however: Package grub-efi-amd64 is not configured yet. dpkg: error processing grub-efi (--configure): dependency problems - leaving unconfigured No apport report written because the error message indicates its a followup error from a previous failure. Errors were encountered while processing: grub-efi-amd64 grub-efi E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
Then again, Boot Repair DID warn me that removing GRUB would render the operating system unbootable until I put in a replacement...
Boot troubles
My present trouble is that , even after uninstalling Kubuntu, I can no longer boot, most likely due to me uninstalling GRUB. Reinstalling Kubuntu leads to this:
Path `/boot/grub' is not readable by GRUB on boot. Installation is impossible. Aborting.
I am currently looking into a way to unlock /boot/grub. If I can install Lignux in the computer, that would be a bonus.
Operating System Romanticism
I really like Kubuntu, especially its interface. However, I can not install the operating properly anymore. (I did not have the foresight to anticipate worse installing problems when I uninstalled Kubuntu.) Right now, I am running this from the Live CD I burned, running boot-repair while I copy the ROMs into the Chameleon Pi (one thing I could not do under Windows).
I guess the Raspberry Pi shall be taking this duty, especially since the Raspberry Pi was meant to be a 'fun' computer while the one I am using now was meant to be a 'serious' computer...
Then again, if the house computer ever becomes depreciated...
The #sudo tag
I expected to get xkcd references or even stuff about Lignux.
I ended up getting a killion posts about some South Korean boy group (complete with some fanfics of the members).
