also like. re the post abt homeschooling: the reasons my parents were homeschooling us were Not good. they were primarily religiously motivated, they didn't want us to get vaccinated which we'd have to do if we went to public schools, we had a religious exemption letter i remember (nuts btw).

but also, the years we spent where everyone was homeschooled were good. i was encouraged to pursue my interests whatever those were, i spent a ton of time with my younger siblings and formed relationships with them which i don't think i wouldve done if i'd been in public school and they'd been in different grades. a couple of my brothers had learning difficulties and homeschooling allowed them to both take stuff at a pace more suited to them personally and also to tailor the curriculum to engage with them more.
