my current (longterm) project is collaging myself a custom art/zine prompt deck, using a 40 cent pack of thrifted playing cards as the base. 99% of these collages are made using old national geographics for both the images and text.
SIMPLE GUIDE:
Body Horror: Things that cannot happen in real life. EX: The Thing, stomach mouths, eyes on hands, etc
Gore: Fresh injuries, often severe. EX: Severed leg, gutspill, deep gashes, etc
NEITHER: Healed injuries and burns, congenital differences, missing appendages, etc. If I could theoretically go to the store and see that character browsing the isles- It isn't body horror or gore. That's just a person. *AND the amount of people that tag, not just fictional characters, but real human beings as body horror is staggering. Its not solely a fandom issue, ableism and bigotry against anyone that looks sufficiently "different" is prevalent in real life and has devastating consequences.
(Modified) from my comment left on this post.
Adding:
Self harm scars are not body horror.
Pregnant people are not body horror.
Burn scars are not body horror, that includes chemical burn scars.
Prosthetics are not body horror.
NOT having prosthetics is also not body horror.
There is no disability aid that is body horror.
Congenital differences + disabilities are not body horror.
AND acquired differences + disabilities are also not body horror.
Real people are not body horror.
If you are uncomfortable or scared because someone looks different than you that is YOUR PROBLEM. It is your responsibility to get over it, or at the very least not make it everyone else's issue. Play the quiet game.
do you know how wild it is liking some random youtuber and being able to think "i bet he'd actually use the right pronouns for me"
that never happens
idk man is "using the right pronouns for people" basic human decency? yes. but also, the fact that #mystreamer is like. a cis boy. yet consistently so good at actually USING any/all pronouns for any/all pronoun users. whether its using she/he/they/it at various times in the same conversation. or like. actually USING neos for someone who uses they/them and also star/starself. it has endeared him to me greatly.
like yeah it shouldn't be a big deal it shouldn't be anything more than "yeah duh" but it genuinely makes me so happy
the peak of comedy in minecraft videos will always be someone bluffing about being able to take a fight and then while they're talking shit to their opponent they open their inventory and there's like 2 cobwebs and a stick in there. bro you're not taking anything
his dick, maybe

We were so enthralled by this leaf on our walk back from dinner last night
My first zine I've fully made! (Others are a work in progress)
I preordered these pants several months ago and after they arrived I unfortunately have not been able to wear them due to, the feeling of the waistband combined with where the rise hits me is just anathematic to my particular sensory issues. Does anyone here think they could get some use out of them? I'll send them to you for the cost of postage (I am in the UK) because I would just really like them to find a home with someone who would wear them. The size is XL/2XL, waist 38-45, hip 57, inseam 30. They are made of a thick, slightly textured ramie/cotton blend that feels similar to linen/cotton.
#mythingy. based on an imaginary friend i had as a kid
It really is hilarious because whenever you start your art journey, you watch all the videos and ask artists and they all give tips and help but it all ends up coming down to "you just have to practice".
And it pisses you off because bruh how am I supposed to practice this shit if I can't even do this first couple of fucking lines to make a good cylinder.
And then you start drawing and it sucks and you keep doing it, and you learn new skills and tricks, and you even end up developing an art style naturally (which they told you you would do, and you didn't believe them, but it came free with the constantly drawing in a way that made you comfortable and learning the medium).
And at the end of it all, someone else asks wow how you did all of that, and after all this time of putting in effort you finally have to eat crow and admit that the answer is... Damn... you really have to practice 🤣🤣🤣
hey um. so sorry to tell you this, but op of that post plays toys kinda weird. yeah you should just block them, that's not how normal people play with toys
this is what shipping discourse sounds like to me
"well some rape victims use noncon kink as a way to process their trauma"
"you know most age regressing kinksters were abused as children"
"bondage is really just a way to deal with control issues in people's daily life"
actually I don't think it's very progressive to assign "morally good" justifications to kinks. actually having kinks and participating in kinks is morally neutral and that is the ground they should be defended on.
chicago putting in the work on my lungs for me so i dont even have to smoke 😌
Writers, which software do you use?
Google docs
Microsoft word
Ellipsus
Libre office - writer
Notepad (the fuck is wrong with you lol)
Pages
Other (comment, please, esp if you recommend it)
Checking results
I used to use Google docs, but the white mode only was really annoying me (tires my eyes), so I swapped to Ellipsus (which I genuinely love and recommend), but it was bothering me a bit that I need wifi in order to use it, so now I switched to LibreOffice Writer, which I do like.
It very much has a Microsoft Word feel, but is open source and you need no accounts to use it. It's local on your device, so no AI can scan it, and no wifi is needed.
I still wish it had the Google Docs cards, because, bitch, that thing is so good for easy organizing.
