I do also think there's hmmm SOMETHING about the post 9-11 patriotism and this specific Spiderman movie releasing not even a year after 9-11 that made it SUCH a cultural moment
#nearly a BILLION dollars at the box office in 2002#like NUMBERS#and like was the moment beyond the box office#and again this could be me just like being too history major pilled but it like tracks in my mind#I mean like it helps that it was also Sam Rami but like the vibe at the time was needing something to root for you know?#anyways#we used to have summer blockbusters
