A Year in Provence I have to give a shout out to this one by merciki / @thegirlfromoverthepond It’s not smutty but it reads like poetry, as do so many of her shorter pieces, so you know it stirs the soul with sexy language use.

Now, before Cate comes at me for throwing her on this list, I will admit this too is fairly tame in terms of sexual content, but see the thing is, I am not a vampire type of girl mmkay? And yet DANG! this one is *chef’s kiss* Makes me wanna find a vampire and.., okay you get the point. Sensual.

Merry, Happy, Joyful by @andthisisthewonder / ellembee. Okay, another fairly tame one, but there’s nothing sexier than a good sense of humor and this one has me rolling in laughter every time I read it. Excellent fic.

speaking of monoracial people not fucking knowing how to act around biracial people, i remember i was telling two monoracial friends about how my parents are both two different races, with one of them being brown and the other being white, and immediately they (without even really acknowledging what i’d said beyond a lame utterance of, “oh cool,”) derailed the conversation into talking about white guys fetishizing and abusing woc. you know how people talk about how “there’s a time and a place for certain topics, and bringing them up in select situations, depending on prior context, can come off as weird and inappropriate”? yeah, that was that. white guys fetishizing woc in their relationships is a very real issue, but i feel like bringing said issue up right after i mention having a white father and a brown mother, whose relationship is healthy and leaves absolutely no room for fetishization, is... somewhat socially inept. mind you i didn’t even get around to describing this relationship to them yet. i just said, “yeah my dad is white and my mami is brown”. and of course, monoracial people being monoracial, their mind immediately jumped to the topic of fetishization, and they didn’t consider for one moment that in doing so, they indirectly implied to me that they believed the relationship between my different-race parents to be some weird kink, and not a legitimate and loving union.  where’s the imaginary biracial-people club when you need it
