the sarentu were such a mobile clan i have to imagine that certain animals like the ikran or the direhorse had to have more importance to them than other clans. yes i’m aware that the omatikaya have their own iknimaya and bonding with an ikran is very important for them, but i would imagine then maybe the sarentu iknimaya is more akin to how the zeswa view direhorse riding as if it is an art / something beautiful to be done rather than just a step of maturity. without these animals they’d be unable to easily travel to other clans in order to collect stories and be diplomats.

i’d really like for there to be an animal that tends to bond strictly with the sarentu like how the tarsyu plants only open for the sarentu to bond with to speak to their ancestors — even if it was another species of banshees, since it’s confirmed there are other species of banshees (for example, forest banshees) or something like the dorado verde, but bigger so that it would be able to support a sarentu na’vi.

or perhaps even another large animal like the thanator, but tends to be more docile. the reason i’m straying from direhorses is because i do not want to take that connection away from the zeswa, but also, i’d prefer this animal to be a kind that bonds for life, like the mountain banshee. i shall keep thinking
