Strange Planet provides such a clear example of how easy it is to adopt the use of they/them pronouns as default
Like
It's so not hard
And honestly, I don't care about your gender politics or whatever
WHEN YOU DO NOT KNOW SOMEONE'S GENDER YOU USE THEY/THEM
That is how English works
That is the language we have been raised with
What REALLY pisses me off is this feigned ignorance and bullshit of "its so hard and confusing" wah wah
ITS FUCKEN NOT
You've done it your whole life
"I'm getting a new teacher, I hope they're nice" - you knew full well you were referring to an individual, but you didn't know the gender, so you naturally defaulted to they/them BECAUSE THATS HOW IT WORKS
I just cannot wrap my head around the insolence and stupidity of vehemently insisting that all these people who request to be referred to as they/them have created SUCH an inconvenience when they are simply asking that you refer to them using the default setting you would instinctively use without thought had you not perceived any gender in the first place
All these refusers look like damn fools. And it's because they are.
Just say you don't want to comply because you're a bigot and go. Making up weak ass nonsensical excuses like you suddenly don't know how to use the language you were raised with.
Shut up.
