All right. So while I am DEFINITELY NOT OKAY with pedophilia, and that includes large age gaps/adult-minor relationships even in fandom, there comes a time when I think some people get a little crazy. For example, I am 25 now, but I only just discovered Inuyasha, and Inuyasha will always be a teenager (even if he was frozen for 50 years). But when it was being released, I was a tiny bean. Am I not allowed to be attracted to him now because I’m older? It’s not my fault I’m currently 25 and his character isn’t. And on that note, it’s not my fault My Hero Academia is 10 years too late to the party, so I’m 25 and Todoroki is 15, making me too old to be attracted to him.
Like...15-year-old me would’ve been in love with him, too. And it’s fiction. Idk man. My favorite book is about a girl who is 17 and just like me, and a boy who is 18 (barely) and exactly the kind of boy I want to be with forever. They fall in love. When I read it, I was 18, so he would’ve been my age. Now, I’m 25, and he’s still 18. He’ll always be 18. That’s just how that works. I still wish I could marry him.
And if he were a real boy, he’d be the same age as me. So I’m okay with that.
Look. I know I’m weird for being attracted to anime/fictional characters, but their artists/creators are to blame, okay? And I’m not attracted to actual 15-year-olds--God NO--just the fictional ones who don’t age.
I apologize for getting older???
And, maybe I’m blowing this out of proportion. I’m not trying to call anyone out or anything, I just...want to enjoy good-looking boys. Also, I write romance novels about kids in high school, so I have to be attracted to teen romance heros on some level, I guess.
