hi! no pressure to answer this, i don't know have many swifties on tumblr, so i thought i'd reach out <3

i'm personally a poc fan, i've been one since 2012 so taylor's been a huge part of my life. this is just my opinion but i'm losing respect for her, and her fans as a whole, who a large part of which are white and elitist girls who feel okay with dismissing the concerns of, to begin with, poc, jewish, lgbtq+ people, victims of sexual assault etc.

a lot of people are saying it's not taylor's fault as matty healy is responsible for his own actions, but i am so sick and tired of the constant victimization taylor gets in the public eye and how confidently white swifties and 1975 fans can defend them both as if she hasn't participated in complicitly amplifying a known industry racist, they keep saying things like "oh she's going through something" or try to justify her actions with some lose argument as if she's not a grown woman. we know celebrities market a version of themselves to the public and in the process, sometimes use important social movements like protesting for lgbtq+ rights or black lives matter, sometimes it's genuine, sometimes it's not. but by involving herself with matty healy, she's losing credibility, it looks like performative activism at best. i just don't know what to think anymore.
