when: saturday, july 19th where: the elevator in their apartment building who: tina & @kittywildest
for once, tina felt like she'd woken up on the right side of the bed. she'd slept surprisingly well, and almost had a pep in her step on her way out of the building, heading out for a library trip. the only thing that could stop her? the sight of a face she knew well greeting her on the other side of the elevator doors, leaving her with pause. she's tempted, at least for a couple seconds, to step out and simply take the stairs the rest of the way down, but she knows kitty knows this isn't her floor, and, as hard as she's considering trying, she knows she can't avoid the other woman forever. "oh. ...hi." tina chooses to greet her instead, stepping aside to make some more room between them, and then, surprising even herself, dares to continue the conversation. "we missed you at dinner last night." a conversation starter, a simple pleasantry, but, also, the truth. did she miss the awkwardness between them at the moment? no, of course not. but her friendship with kitty, before their fight on her cancelled wedding day? absolutely.
