believe me, I fucking feel that. that exact feeling is why i made that post, because the hypocrisy of those people is honestly astounding.

they can go on and on about how the word has “historical significance” and they can trot out their life stories about how they love that word and the community and how it saved their life/gave them a home/etc etc etc

and like

that’s lovely

but why do those experiences matter more than the hundreds and thousands of stories that say the opposite, where that word was used to hurt and Other and isolate, where that word broke homes and hearts and spirits, why do those stories matter less? 

you can reclaim slurs sure, but reclaiming a slur is and should always be a personal thing, not something you force on others. it’s not reclaiming if it’s involuntary.

it has some serious costume and special effect problems

which i mean granted its a Japanese film so theyre probably working with less of a budget than you'd expect from like a Hollywood blockbuster. but still, like you really couldnt spring for a wig for Ed that doesnt look utterly ridiculous? thats a 5 dollar cosplay wig you'd buy on Amazon
