HELL, maybe he was concerned kuroiwa was picked up by some matsugane folk-- maybe he saw hamura once around him-- and that's why he kept trying to fight matsugane men?
and the point is that when he finds who he thinks is mitsuru, and mitsuru isn't recognising him, he thinks he's going crazy. but then they fight in l'amant and kuroiwa admits that he knows and it's all downhill from there 😭
i bolded good AND bad influence for taabou because in their teenage years i'm feeling that it was taabou who was the bad influence fighter punk kinda guy. LMAO. and then good influence for when they reunite later on. i like the thing we came up with where taabou rushes him to the nearest hospital-- esp since the ADDC is surrounded by other medical buildings-- to keep kuroiwa alive as a witness. maybe kuroiwa's put under house arrest after that? or he was in prison and gets out on parole because he faked being a good boy in prison and he wasn't the MAIN perpetrator and they figured the whole blame was ichinose + morita + shouno? IDK. and taabou is like his unofficial babysitter (he keeps tabs on him) (kuroiwa also keeps tabs on taabou because they're obsessed w each other) because he doesn't trust anyone else with this crazy person.
and he makes him so MAD that like. the moment kuroiwa's healed up and has finished physical therapy they are still getting into fights. kaito doesn't even try to stop them any more. and taabou makes it his personal goal to make sure kuroiwa doesn't start killing again... and maybe helps him find purpose too. bc it's hard to forget when they were just takayuki and mitsuru on the streets together 😭😭😭
