New beginnings
Ah, starting a new blog. The hopefulness (that this won't join the scrapheap of blogs that came before), the creative hashtags (that I fear will soon fade to the occasional #lime!), the excitement...
Mostly I'm starting this in anticipation of my upcoming trip to London (in May). But as that is several months away, I'm afraid that anyone silly enough to follow along will shortly be deluged with random posts - limes, other fruit, random musings, Sherlock, Doctor Who, whatever other television programs temporarily catch my eye.
Anyoldhow - onward!
My mouth tastes of Lime. I love that stuff.
Turning Point
My adored running shoes with the lime green trim are on their last, smelly steps, and it's time for me to invest in a new pair. Since I had the good fortune of finding my foot dream brand circa 11th grade -- any Adidas running shoe in size 8.5 -- I generally just buy whatever I can find online for a reasonable price. Which is great because I generally find shoe shopping totally overwhelming.
Enter my dilemma. First, we have Exhibit 1:
Totally normal price for me to spend on running shoes, nice look overall...but could I abandon my green kicks for pink? I know it has treated others well, but still. Lime green is sort of my jam.
So we turn to Exhibit 2:
Lovely Lime. But I'm used to my lime options being the bottom end of the price spectrum. Is lime (gasp) cool now? Can I justify spending even $15 more for my fave color? Also, what's with all the white? That is going to turn an unattractive shade of drab in no time at all.
And then finally, Exhibit 3:
Now I ask you, members of my shoe jury, just what the wonderful people at Adidas were smoking when they decided that these shoes were "Grey/Green"? "Green"?? Am I developing color-blindness from staring too closely at case books, or are those shoes yellow? Better question -- at a mere $40, and after three years of school debt, do I really get to care?
So here I am, potentially abandoning my favorite shade for yellow. Clearly #WhiteNerdyDCGirlProblems.
