Starting new work. It will be focusing on having bipolar disorder. Although stable for years now, I will not forget the ups and downs of the illness, especially after having my two daughters. I will ask never forget taking lithium for the first time and throughout the first months feeling it’s work and my life becoming smoother and actually looking forward to living it. So here I am now looking back, and having a respect for the future and what it may bring. Found this beautiful part of a tree in the little forest area we happen to have in front of the development we rent in. It’s actually even more interesting as this part of limerick is a heron sanctuary. I think it’s over a meter in height/length and I want to do something to it for an entry into a exhibition. To be honest I prefer working on found materials a lot more than shopping for them. But it’s also a matter of luck-what you find, where, and how it is. This could be the world, your city, your road, your room, your head. I chose to create this clay piece of a house wife, with many different roles, even a job. This may not resonate with everyone but it’s something I have to work through. So the top of the clay structure, the handle, if you like is made out of the combination of this dried grass and air dry clay. It symbolizes the making of a family, a relationship, a home and everything and anything that needs time.
