for the dai inquisitor as a companion ask meme: 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 15, 22, 25
@limiculous you’re my favorite person in the world, and I’m answering these for Hestia Trevelyan because of course I am
2. How would they meet the Inquisitor?
She would be found in The Hinterlands, shepherding a group of mages and tranquil through the crossroads. You have to finish the escort mission before recruiting her, but she jumps at the chance to join the Inquisition.
3. What would some of their cutscenes look like?
Her cutscenes would usually take place walking, in the herb garden in Skyhold or through the sands of the Western Approach. I think the first kiss if you romance her is in the Western Approach too.
4. What would their romance route look like? Would they be romancable?
Hestia is romanceble by all genders and races, and the romance route is very much like Zevrans. You get a sex cutscene or implied sex blackout right at the start of the route, because for Hestia sex is not the same as love. You can keep things casual but are forced to break up with her if you want to romance somebody else. She has no hard feelings if you do. Locking into her romance involves an argument in the Inquisitors quarters where she admits that she hasn’t fallen for anybody since before the circles fell and she’s uncomfortable letting herself be vulnerable with the Inquisitor. Once you promise that you won’t break her heart, she will shyly tell you she’s falling in love with you.
In Trespasser, she’ll express disappointment if the Inquisitor disbands the Inquisition, saying, “Skyhold is the first place that felt like home.” She also offers to run away with you before the final sequence of game play, saying, “Fuck what the Exhaled Council thinks of you. As long as we’re together, anything is possible.”
5. If they romanced someone as Inquisitor, would they still fall for that person as a companion? How would that play out? How would they react to that person being romanced by the “new” Inquisitor?
Depending on who the Inquisitor romances in their run, Hestia couples off with several different people. If Bull is romanced, she will start to date Krem and they are very happy together. If Bull is not romanced, she will date Bull but it will have faded back to friendship by Trespasser. If the Bull and Dorian romance is activated, she will develop a crush on Cassandra that blossoms into love if Cassandra is not made divine in Trespasser.
8. What kind of Inquisitor would drive them to leave the Inquisition/confront them about their actions (what gets their approval low? what does that scene look like)?
Her approval drops if you side with the Templars, if you exile the Wardens from Orlais, and if you let Empress Celene die (she has no approval changes for which person you choose to lead Orlais). She will not leave unless you sentence a mage prisoner to Tranquility, but there is only one dialogue option to convince her to stay if you do. Her leaving scene is much like Cole’s, you catch her storming through the gates and she demands to know why you insist on treating mages like things. If you respond with any option other than the sympathetic, “I don’t take the punishment of tranquility lightly, and I would never use the brand on you,” she will shake her head and never be seen again.
15. Without the influence of their decisions for the Inquisition, which of the companions do they get along with? Which ones do they bicker with?
Hestia gets along well with Iron Bull and Dorian, clashes with Vivienne at first but comes to respect and like her, is awkwardly formal with Blackwall until his deception is revealed, but is one of the group that forgives him immediately. She and Solas do not see eye to eye on anything but the treatment of Cole.
22. If you have another Inquisitor, how would those two get along, specifically?
I have so many Inquisitors tbh. She gets along with any Trevelyan Inquisitor, since she is canonically their cousin, and does her best to be polite with the rest. She has a past with the Adaar Inquisitor, and has worked with their mercenary band before.
25. In the alternate reality, if they were corrupted with lyrium, how do they act? What’s their attitude about the end of the world/their inevitable death?
Hestia sitting in her cell, singing a nonsense song to keep herself calm. She seems manic and half crazy when you let her out of the ell, her words are babbled and frantic, and she seems thirsty to hit something. She is upset that the world is ending, but calm and frank about her imminent death. She says she intends to die before the lyrium can eat her up entirely.
