Lin Jie is an otherworlder who manages a bookstore. He's kind and always recommends soul-healing books for his dejected customers. Sometimes he'd even share his own works too. As time goes on, these customers start to respect him a lot.

They bring simple local products every day to show their gratitude and ask for book recommendations. They even start telling tales of this ordinary shopkeeper.

His respectful and cordial titles include “Hyena of the Evil God”, “Herald of the Flesh Gospel”, “Author of Cultes des Goules” and “Shepherd of the Stars”???

People should read this Manhua, I’m not joking it’s so good- it’s just such a refreshing take, and the comedy is hilarious to me cause the way both parties misunderstands each other is great (almost reminds me of ToCF). You can clearly see the dichotomy between an outsider’s point of view and the mc’s own view on each transaction, as it is illustrated clearly to be easily differentiated.

[The mc, Lin Jie, is similar in a sense to ToCF own protagonist because both of them are opportunistic con-men, and the people that surrounds them have no idea how utter bullshit they are spewing, yet they believe it all willingly. The two brilliant bastards fellows are treated admiringly, worshipped with awe and even fear.]

Truly the way the customer’s assumptions get the best of them, and how there’s a differing opinion on the shopkeeper, yet one thing for sure they are all under the impression that he’s quite an omnipotent and omnipresent being that knows exactly what you need (which technically isn’t too far from the truth, but shh Mr. Lin isn’t aware of it at all-). While the man himself, have no genuine idea of how his customers interpret his vague wordings and book recommendations Soul-healing sessions. That makes them feel as if they were born anew, given a second life to start over with a firm purpose than ever before.

I will now be patiently waiting for any update this one will have in the future.
