In May of 2008 the badly decomposed body of a homeless woman was found inside a deserted farmhouse in New Hampshire. She laid in plain sight on the floor in front of a large bay window, her foot resting near a heat vent. Her only possessions were a pair of white sneakers and set of notebooks. With meticulous detail, the woman documented her thoughts and daily life as she tried to survive the unforgiving New Hampshire winter, giving a personal and haunting view to her demise. Her name was Linda Bishop.

The 2016 documentary “God Knows Where I Am” follows the journey of Bishop’s final days, as well as the road that lead her there. The description of its IMDB page reads: Through diary entries, this documentary follows the life and death of homeless woman Linda Bishop and her struggles with starvation, sanity and God.
