'Soon as we got the prompt, DANCE, I knew this would be a fun exercise in capturing movement. Especially after I chose to depict some 20s to 50s swing and Lindy Hop. The movements and the way they swing their partners about is just unreal!
Before that, I wanted to do a tribute to the 1948 film, ‘The Red Shoes’. Still, I found a way to in the end with another painted egg. Turns out it’s so tricky to make an egg look convincingly like a ballet slipper, despite the shape
Once again I LOVED everyone else’s pieces. I can see everyone’s thought processes of capturing all these styles of movements. Not to mention. Getting experimental with how they added a fancy flare to the images.
I even rewatched episodes of ‘The Big Painting Challenge’ that focused on movement. 'Allowed me to try some interesting new methods out. In the end, I decided to treat this as an experiment, rather than a masterpiece. For what it is, I’m happy with how it turned out.
