Some cool linguistics projects
Our friends over at Humans Who Read Grammars have put up a couple of projects over the past couple of weeks that we thought we’d share with you and help get the word out about! It’s the weekend soon / already, so maybe you’ll have some time to play around with them.
The first is a game called LingQuest, where players try to work out which different speakers are using the same language. The more languages are in there, the better! So take a look at their post about it, and how to contribute.
The second is about the International Linguistics Olympiad. This is a competition to work on linguistics problems, and you don’t necessarily need to know much about linguistics to take part! But if you do, you can help make puzzles, or get involved with organizing. There’s a bunch of information over in their post about the different countries that are involved, too.
So yeah! There’s a lot of cool stuff going on over there, and it doesn’t have to take too much time to look around. ^_^
