The power of video and LinkedIn, and being connected to the right person is what recently took me to Melbourne to speak at the National Speakers Association of Australia’s national conference.
#NSAA2014 was held over 4 days at the Crown Promenade in Melbourne in February and I joined a range of speakers on various topics to inspire and educate speakers to become more.
I was asked to speak about LinkedIn for Speakers, via a presentation and workshop. The pre-conference workshop was a 2 hour instructional and education session to provide profile tips and strategies to use LinkedIn in order to build the Profile and online presence of speakers in the room. The style of the workshop was interactive with lots of questions and things to think about. A hand out was provided as a starting point, which forms part of my LinkedIn Ignition Program.

The conference presentation was in collaboration with Mel Kettle from Queensland, talking about Twitter and LinkedIn for Speakers. We had never met before but were able to present well together, both sharing the same values in using social media.
Unfortunately the previous sessions ran late which meant our session was cut short. Because my style is very conversational, I was able to adapt my presentation to the time allocated, which I didn’t think of as a unique skill, but was congratulated after the event on my ability to adapt easily.
To those that only attended the Sunday presentation, I hope you were inspired to look further into social media for your speaking business, and specifically LinkedIn. If you require some coaching, training or want to outsource your set up, give me a call or drop me an email. I have various packages available to suit your needs.
In the meantime, here are the slides to download for your reference.;Day 3 – LinkedIn for Speakers – Slides
