Catching Up
So... I started setting aside [an hour a day to write](http://modoiocor.tumblr.com/post/27747186864/writing-again) a couple weeks ago. Except for Tuesday nights (which is reserved for D&D), I've been able to keep to it. It's actually working well. I know I don't spend enough ink on describing actions and the setting of the scenes and too much on dialogue. Which is, perhaps, the inverse of what those who know me well might think... But the story is starting to flow. I _still_ have no idea where it's really going, and what's going to happen along the way. There are several things that I will need to go back and review and research when working on a second draft, but it feels good to put pen to paper and see the story spill out across the page. --- Catching up on links... A very cute [Office Kitten Proposal](http://asana.com/kittens) A beautifully assembled list of [Rhetological Fallacies](http://www.informationisbeautiful.net/visualizations/rhetological-fallacies/) XKCD has started a weekly feature about applying math and science to hypothetical and rhetorical questions. And lastly, from [Surviving the World](http://survivingtheworld.net/): How to find out [if he really loves you](http://survivingtheworld.net/Recitation14.html).

Ever had to explain String Theory via text message? I got this text from Koala late on Thursday:
I just heard this craziness about computer code being discovered within string theory. My mind is blown. We are living in the matrix and what the f$*& is string theory?
(No, we're not in the Matrix. The language of theoretical physics doesn't have all the same meanings that the language of everyday people does.)
There are important questions to ask when joining a D&D game. Be prepared!
Speaking of the Matrix (but not the one from the movie of the same name)... The creator of Shadowrun has gotten the rights to it and has a Kickstarter for a new single-player computer game. I always loved the setting's mash-up of magic, fantasy, and classic cyberpunk. They're already up to the point where they planning to include Riggers with their drones. Definitely hoping this comes to fruition.
And speaking of drones...
The US Air Force has expanded its drone army into outer space. Space is a place we used to go; now we just send robotic drones there...
