You want to download a video or some music off of a website? But all those converter websites are slow as shit or bombard you with ads or are generally sketchy looking? Search no more!

Install yt-dlp on your Linux computer and you will never have to search for those weird converter websites ever again!

Once installed, you can download a video off of youtube or thousands of other websites (and convert it to a specific file format such as mp3 instantly) with the following command:

yt-dlp -x --audio-format mp3 "URL"

Oh, but there are multiple songs in this one youtube video and you only need a portion of it? Do not worry, my fair maiden! You can simply instruct your trusty terminal with a (totally made up for the purpose of this tutorial) time stamp:

yt-dlp -x --audio-format mp3 --download-sections "*01:30-03:45" "URL"

There are a bunch of other handy arguments here, such as changing the audio quality or writing a subtitle file.

Et voilà, it will download your desired media straight to your /home!
