I got flowers!
Hobbes is a local patient who came in for a spa. He’s rather large... his person is taller than me and if she were Calvin, well, then this is her Hobbes. Really all he needed was cleaning and stuffing. Here he is ready to go home. he’s so big he didn’t fit in one photo:
And just for comparison, here he is playing with two lions who were in the hospital at the same time. Hobbes is a local guy from CA, but the lions came from Brooklyn NY and Hong Kong!
Hobbes was the last to go home. His person picked him up at the hospital yesterday, and when I opened the door for her, she handed me flowers!
Stuffed animal people are the nicest people!
Cycles, Lions, and Tigers, Oh My!
I was looking through photos of patients who’ve been in the hospital since the start of the year. We’ve been going through cycles: First there were the tigers (all named Tiger), then the lambs (Lambys and Lambies mostly), you’ve already seen some of the elephants (we’ve had Ellie and Elle and Elephant), and the moose and reindeer (Moosie and Morty and Rusty). Right now, there are a lot of monkeys. Monkeys here, monkeys on their way home, monkeys on their way to the hospital. It’s funny how the animals tend to come with their breed.... most of the time. There’s a badger going home Monday (Herm), and I’ve never had a badger patient before!
Anyway, today I’d like you to meet Mr. Lion and Mr. Tiger. They are hand puppets (there were a number of puppets too), who had been very well loved for many years. Here they were on arrival at the hospital:
As you can see, they needed some help! They were in for a spa, new lining, fur transplants, and general wound repair. Here they were in progress, after cleaning and partially lined:
And here they were ready to go home:
The pair were in the hospital for about a month (exactly as predicted). Their person picked them up in person, and was “absolutely delighted”! Mr. Lion, in particular, was proud to have a mane again.
