Why is Geralt so grumpy in Skyrim

 because  the  dragons  are  all  bad    .

      despite  how  it  may  seem,  lyric’s  not  a  bad  hunter.  he  has  no  issue  running  into  dangerous  situations  -  they’re  nothing  new  to  him  after  all  and  he  can  handle  them  well.  what  is  new  is  being  handed  directions  to  a  nest  of  vampires  by  a  vampire  himself.  granted,  fae  isn’t  just  any  vampire  and  he  trusts  him  whole  heartedly,  but  it’s  still  strange.  he  doubts  the  other  would  have  put  a  target  on  the  back  of  innocent  vampires,  but  he  asks  a  few  questions  just  to  make  sure.  ❛  unwilling  converts,  huh?  ❜  definitely  not  innocent  and  it  doesn’t  sound  like  a  simple  misunderstanding  of  not  knowing  control.  it’s  his  kind  of  hunt  alright.  

       there’s  a  pause,  though.  ❛  are  ya  sure  about  this?  ❜  while  usually  he  wouldn’t  hesitate  when  it  comes  to  a  hunt  like  this,  this  situation  isn’t  exactly  like  every  other  one.  it’s  not  coming  from  another  hunter  or  one  that  he  found  on  his  own.  ❛  if  this  is  gonna  get  you  in  trouble  or  put  a  target  on  your  back  -  i  don’t  want  that.  ❜  he  understands  fae’s  an  older  vampire  and  probably  much  stronger  than  he  can  imagine  him  -  after  all  his  only  image  of  him  has  been  someone  kind  -  but  he  can,  and  does,  still  worry.  ❛  if  you  have  any  doubts  or  concerns  or  anything  about  your  safety,  i  won’t  go  after  them  and  i’ll  pretend  like  i  never  saw  this.  ❜

        his  last  hunt  took  a  bit  longer  than  he  expected  it  to.  nothing  that  would   usually  bother  him,  but  once  he  stopped  being  able  to  reach  fae,  it  definitely  sets  off  some   alarms.  it  made  him  want  to  finish  this  job  as  fast  as  he  possibly  could.  so  when  he  did,  there  wasn’t  any  hesitation  to  get  back  home.  he  wasn’t  expecting  what  he’d  see  -  his  boyfriend  looking  like   death.  a  real   walking  corpse  look.  his  stomach  drops  as  he  sees  what  kind  of  shape  he’s  in.  for  a  moment,  he  freezes  -  not  something  that  happens  often.  there’s  a  moment  of   fear  that  washes  over  him  -  not  because  of  him,  but   for  him.  ❛   fae?  ❜  he  snaps  himself,  finally  able  to  move  his  body  once  again.  he  rushes  to  him,  cupping  his  face  and  tilting  his  head  to  look  at  him.  ❛   baby,  what  happened?  when’s  the  last  time  you  ate?  ❜

          having  fae  teach  him  the  ropes  has  been  helpful.  otherwise  he’d  be  confused  and  scared  of  his  own  shadow  at  this  point.  he  kind  of  still  is.  ❛  right,  right,  ❜  he  gives  a  quick  nod.  he’s  grateful.  garlic  is  one  of  his  favorite  foods.  until  he  learns  he  can’t  taste  food  anymore.  ❛  what  about  mirrors?  ❜  if  there’s  one  thing  he  is,  it’s  vain.  his  looks  are  important  to  him,  they  make  him  feel  worthwhile.  he  needs  the  comfort  of  knowing  he  can  still  see  himself.
