→ it’s your second tournament within the lionesses — the FIFA world cup.
↳ your first was the european championship — and you absolutely outshone and shocked the public with your skills despite your young age. because of your astonishing performance, sarina put you in the line up for the FIFA world cup.
→ ever since you joined, everyone pretty much looked out for you bc they new how hard it can be to be a pro footballer — especially at such a young age.
↳ they defo made sure to keep you up on your school work cause they couldn’t afford you slacking — hannah and lucy defo took it upon themselves to help you with your spanish (which is probably why you’re pretty much fluent in the language).
→ it’s the third tournament in and you get subbed on in the first half, replacing LJ because she was previously lightly injured in the last match but now was feeling some pain in her ankle again.
↳ you were a common sub, often seen as ‘the lionesses’ game changer’
→ the first time when you got tackled you didn’t think much of it until it started repeating, getting more aggressive to the point you started getting slammed to the ground.
↳ it was leah who first noticed — she’s always kept an eye out for you, especially a lot more then she does with the others due to your young age, as she’s the captain.
↳ lucy then realised right after leah and so did the others.
↳ sarina also picked up on it when she saw how the opposing players started marking you more than the other lionesses.
→ one of the incidents was when hemp passed you the ball and you successfully obtained it and as you were about to dribble it, a player from the other team shoved you harshly from behind, causing you to get slammed to the floor, rolling onto your front. the pressure with the floor colliding onto your front caused a wave of pain jolt through you making you groan out. you ended up getting so pissed, clenching your jaw, staring daggers into her and ready to box the women’s face in.
↳ leah had enough of it and furiously went up to the player who shoved you, having a right go at her, lucy joined her whilst alessia and beth got you up asking if you were okay. beth was checking you like a protective mother until the medical staff came to make sure you were okay from that nasty fall.
↳ when the medical staff got up to make sure you were okay, sarina quickly stopped one of the staff before he/she was able to step onto the pitch, sarina asked her/him to ask if you would rather get subbed off or want to stay in the game — she knew you’d say you’d rather stay on because you’re fine (even if your not but you’re too stubborn to admit).
↳ the medical staff delivered sarina’s message and you looked over to the technical area just to see sarina look at you concerned. you shake your head towards her — in a way of saying ‘i want to stay on’ and then let the staff know your final choice whilst grace gave you a drink from the medical’s sack to drink from more like feeding it to you like a baby just to take the piss out of you.
↳ the medical staff came off after assessing you, saying your fit to continue playing and then informed sarina with your final opinion, but she still was debating whether to keep you in or take you out despite your opinion because she didn’t want anything worse to happen to you or anyone (she knows for well that once your temper snaps you’ll kick off at the opposing team and full on scrap them) as she picked up on how the opposing team started marking you and targeting you. she knew you well enough to know that you would have said you’d rather stay on (to which no surprise, you did).
↳ the ref barely does anything, to which greenwood has a go at and the player ends up getting a yellow card and you get a free kick.
→ you get tripped, but you try no to think much of it as you know if you make it a big deal, you could get disqualified from the whole tournament.
↳ the others were ready to have a go again, not liking the way you keep getting targeted, though every part of your body wanted to join them, you knew better and told them to not bother as it’s not worth it. they then stop for your sake, giving the person who tripped you up a stern look and return to the game.
↳ the english captain gets your attention by grabbing your arm, placing her hands on your shoulder looking at you, “do you want to get subbed off, bub? me and the others don’t want you getting hurt or end up hurting others knowing your temper.”
↳ leah knew for well that you were not willing to sub off but she still asked in case you changed your mind — which you didn’t.
→ it then happens again, even though you’re not even in possession of the ball. the other team gets a corner kick. as the ball gets kicked, you jump to head-butt it away, but then another player from the other team infront of you acts as if she’s also head-butting the ball but instead of doing it away from the goal, it’s towards the goal. however, she actually ends up banging her head into your forehead harshly. you then stumble backwards, holding your forehead, a light bruise forming. hannah was the nearest to you as you was close to the goal and she looks at the small bruise forming.
↳ as hannah was trying to see if you’re okay, your patience snapped and you pushed the chelsea goal keeper away, shoving past everyone in irritation. your brows furrowed in anger, jaw clenched in fury going towards the player who hit you and shoving her to the ground, having a go at her, “what the fuck is wrong with you, ey!?”
↳ beth was trying to stop you from hurting her any further. as the other player that was shoved on the floor by you was trying to get up, you were about to launch at her again, about to give her a right punch planning to break her nose, but before you could, strong arms pulled you away and stopped you from becoming physical. it was lucy. you didn’t even need to look, you knew it was her. “calm down, kid, i know you wanted to box her face in — and so do i — but we can’t have our best player disqualified, aye?”
↳ as lucy spoke to you, your eyes were glued onto the player who made your temper snap. the medical staff came again, to check your bruise and assess it. luckily it wasn’t brutal however they still treated it and applied a cold compress onto it. they also announced how sarina has decided that she’s going to sub you off for your safety regardless of your opinions. lucy lets you go as you walk off the pitch, all the players watching, aggie running on as she subs for you, giving you a quick hug as you both pass. leah pats your back, praising you, “you did well, bub,”
→ as you went to the technical area, the english manager went to you as to say down, she passed you a coat to protect yourself from the cold breeze, speaking to you, “you did well, kid, but next time i want you to come off if things go too far.”
↳ you put the coat on, thanking her and nodding at what she said. you sit next to niamh and ella, listening to ella’s stories with niamh whilst your hand is holding the ice pack in place.

football was your escapism.
ever since you were young, you’d always find an escape of your problems through playing football.
you’ve always loved watching, playing football — anything to do with it. but your parents never did. they always thought it was only for boys, not for girls like you.
it wasn’t until your pe teacher noticed on how much you loved football and how talented you were at it to ask you if you ever wanted to become a professional — which your child self responded to her by saying, “my mum and dad said i can’t because it’s a boys game.”
your teacher sighed, and then she asked again, “no, y/n, i’m asking if YOU want to play football professionally — not if your parents think you should.”
you didn’t know what to say then, took you a moment to think, “yes”
your pe teacher smiled at that, promising you she’d take matters into her own hands to convince your parents to let you start your path into playing professional football.
your pe teacher ended up convincing your parents to put you through into an academy, however that didn’t make them stop their viewpoints on how the games only meant for boys.
7-8 years later, you got a chance to play for your senior club, making your football debut at only 15.
in the changing rooms, tying your laces up on your boots, your club’s captain comes in, eyes landing on the youngest, “y/n, (clubteam’s manager) wants to see you,”
you nod towards the captain, who gives you a small smile, then telling everyone to be out for training in 5 minutes.
you put your foot back on the ground, fixing yourself up quickly, making your way to find your club manager.
“ah, y/n, there you are, my star player!” your manager says as he/she sees you, a smile on her/his face.
“hey, (managers name),” you say softly, your fingers subtly playing with the hem of your kit’s shirt as you’re nervous — nervous on why your manager wants to speak to you one on one, “(captain name) said you wanted to speak to me.”
“oh yes,” your manager begins, “i got a call—”
anxiety bubbles in you, did you do something wrong? no, that can’t be, he’s/she’s smiling at me—
“—from sarina wingman,”
your thoughts stop,
as you bluntly speak up, you stare at your manager in shock, “what?”
your manager smiles, “you’ve been called up for euros camp to play with the lionesses in the euros coming up.”
“h-how?”
“i never told you, but she’s came to a few games to assess you,”
eyes widening at what he says, you couldn’t believe it. what do you mean she’s been watching me? you’ve always looked around the crowd to see if you recognise anyone, both personally or professionally, but you never saw her.
“congratulations, y/n,”
walking into the training centre, you feel out of place. one of the staff spot you, recognising you as the new lioness, he calls out to you, helping you go to where you’re meant to be.
walking to the training grounds, everyone’s eyes lay on you — it’s not common to see such a young person here.
sarina spots you and smiles towards you, giving a ‘i’ve got it from here’ nod towards the staff member. he then nods back, gesturing for you to go to sarina. you bid him a small thanks, which he responds back with “no worries” and leaves the grounds whilst you go towards sarina.
“who’s that?” beth says towards the other players, who all look towards you as they train.
“she’s probably the new player sarina was telling us about yesterday.” the captain responds,
“but she seems too young,” bronze butts in,
before anyone could say anything, sarina turns towards the others, her hand hovering behind you, guiding you towards the other players.
“right everyone, this is y/n l/n, she’ll be joining you all, and i expect you all to make her feel welcomed into this squad,” you stand beside her, subtly messing with the hem of your top, a habit you always have when you get nervous, “leah, can you take y/n to the changing rooms and show her her assigned locker.”
you look up to look at england’s captain, leah williamson, a player you truely admire.
she comes towards you, giving you a small smile as she guides you away from everyone, walking beside your shy self, noticing how your fingers unconsciously play with the hem of your shirt, “sarinas told us a lot of good things about you,”
you look up towards the older player, unsure what to say, you shyly nod. as you both make your way towards the changing rooms, leah gives a brief tour to the way from the training grounds to the changing rooms.
round the corner to the changing rooms, leah’s eyebrows suddenly furrows, the shyness and from how young you look makes her wonder how old you are, “wait, how old are you?”
“i’m 15, turning 16 soon,” you quietly answer. leah picked up on the nervousness in your voice but doesn’t push on it. her eyes widen at your answer,
“fifteen?” she repeats in shock, “that’s young — but you’ve earnt it to be here, so make sure you enjoy it, okay?”
leah’s already gotten protective over you, your shyness and youth makes her feel like she needs to keep you safe from the world.
now walking into the changing rooms, she shows you towards your locker, which is next to lucy bronze’s.
“this is your locker, your kits been placed there, so get changed —i’ll wait outside for you.”
she walks outside so you can have your privacy and you begin getting changed into your training kit, fixing your hair, even using your got2b gel to slick back your fly away hairs, spray a bit of perfume etc to maintain a good impression. you mentally prepare yourself to be able to train with professional football players that you’ve admired ever since a young age.
you walk back onto the training grounds, england’s captain right beside you and you both make you’re way towards the rest of the players.
mid-training
sarina instructed everyone to get into small groups. as everyone did, you stood there, shyly, fingers fiddling with the hem of your shirt, feeling so out of place.
you then see a shadow appear infront of you. you turn around, just to be met with england’s right-back, lucy bronze.
“do you want to join us?”
you stay stood still for a while, trying to register that the lucy bronze is infront of you, asking you if you want to join her group.
she holds back a chuckle at your wide-eyed face but you quickly nod before embarrassing yourself.
she guides you over to the others which contain of georgia, LJ and keira. the three look at you, smiling,
“right, everyone, get behind a line of cones that have been set out for you and get in a line, dribbling the ball around the cones and doing it again on the way back,” sarina announces, “take turns to do this.”
as the dutch finishes setting her instruction, you now follow the others and stand behind them in the line, shyly messing with the hem of your shirt again.
LJ begins, as georgia gets ready and takes her turn. infront of you, keira turns around, sensing your shyness. she watches as you look down at your boots, fiddling with the hem of your shirt again, “it’s okay if you’re feeling nervous, it’s normal, honestly, everyone feels like that for their first time”
lucy can’t help but turn around and see keira speaking to you, “trust me, you’ll be fine, besides, we don’t bite,” the older woman can’t help but teasingly smirk when she says the last bit, “but seriously, we’re all here for you.”
you nod towards the two and shyly mutter, “thanks,”
lucy notices the small, shy smile decorate your young face and she can’t help but get protective of you, your innocence making her want to protect you from the harsh realities of the world.
LJ then returns, jogging to the end of the line, going behind you as georgia wizzes through the exercise.
can i do this? what if i trip?
your overthinking thoughts wave in, you didn’t want to mess such a simple exercise up over the pressure of being watched by england’s best players.
LJ can’t help but look at you from behind, your silence, the way you keep to yourself, the energy you give off makes her aware of how you’re feeling and has a brief idea what’s going on inside your head, “hey, don’t stress, you’ve got this.”
nonchalant but reassuring.
you turn your head towards her and softly smile at the chelsea player.
georgia, lucy and keira have had their go and now it’s your turn. keira passes you the ball, and gives you a reassuring smile before jogging to the back of the line. internally crashing out, you try and keep a peaceful mind, not wanting to over think and especially not wanting to make a fool out of yourself. without anymore thought, you just do it, wanting to get over it. you swiftly dribble the ball around the cones and back. the other four lightly cheer you,
“the kid’s completed her first training exercise!” lucy exclaims and ends up catching the attention of some of the players around you,
“oh well done, kid!”
“atleast she didn’t fall flat on her face like i did!”
“good job!”
ice baths.
one of the biggest things you hated the most about your career. you couldn’t stand the sudden coldness especially because you’re iron deficient. back at your club, you’d always get forced in — players grabbing you and putting you in as you’d try and run away.
“oh, i love ice baths,” alessia perks up from beside you, but you shook your head, causing her curiosity to perk, “do you not like them?”
“no, it’s the worst thing about being a professional footballer,” you speak quietly, but alessia could pick up on the hint of annoyance in your tone, showing how much you hate it.
you keep yourself towards the back of the room, hiding behind equipment, trying to not be seen so you’d not be put in the ice baths and potentially be able to skip it, but to your dismay, one of the physio staff call out your name, looking around the room, “y/n?”
the staff were aware of your deep hatred of ice baths, having received reports from your club detailing how your low iron would effect it and your attempts to avoid them, only to be forced into them by one of the older players.
some of the players soon realised you weren’t with them, and started looking around for you. one of the staff informed the english captain of your club reports regarding physio.
one of the staff members made their way to the back of the room, scanning around to see your whereabouts, calling out your name. her eyes then land to your hidden figure, “there you are, y/n,” she walks towards you, smiling softly, “come, you need to have your ice bath.”
you shake your head in response, “y/n, you don’t really have a choice, this is crucial.”
“but i don’t like them.” you quietly yet defensively say,
“i know, i’ve seen your club reports, but you’re gonna have to have it either way.”
groaning, you keep refusing.
“it’s not as bad as you think”
“you can do it, kid”
“come on, show us how brave you am”
various members of the team try sharing some sort of comfort,
“you can go in for 5 minutes instead of ten, if that makes you feel less scared, especially since i know it’ll be harder with your iron deficiency plus it’s nerve racking to do so infront of the lionesses.” the staff tries to reason with you, but you’re too stubborn to do it.
“she’s stubborn, i like her,” grace tells the others to which esme responds too, “she’s cute,”
the english captain makes her way towards both you and the staff member, “y/n, come on, i know you hate them and they can be intense, but i promise you, you’ll feel better after you do it,”
“i’ll come in with you if it makes you feel better,” grace perks up from behind leah. she’s one of the younger ones, so she gets you, “come on, we’ll be brave together!” she can’t help but tease, just to ease your hate towards it.
looking up with your bottom lip slightly sticking out in the form of a little pout, you mutter a little, ‘fine’
you get dragged to where the ice baths are and watch as grace gets in, sucking up a gasp from the coldness but adjusting afterwards.
“come on, y/n, your turn.”
groaning, the staff member guides you in. as you place your foot into the water, you suck a breath. god you hate this. closing your eyes, you submerge your whole leg in, muttering a few curses at how cold it is under your breath trying to hold back your screams so you don’t embarrass yourself. you then put your other leg in and the water fully submerges you, covering you from toe to chest. feeling the urge to scream, you shiver, your face slowly getting a bit paleas your body goes numb.
“see, not so bad,” grace faces you in the bath, looking at your shivering body.
“‘not so bad’ my arse.” you shuddered, causing grace to laugh at your sharp tongue.
the five minutes pass and the staff member informs you that you can get out now. eager to get out of the freezing torture, you gladly take the staff members arm and she guides you out, wrapping a towel around you as you shiver. grace is still in there, doing the full ten minutes.
“not so scary now, hm?” lucy teases, smiling at you, looking at your shivering, red-skinned frame.
“you smashed it,” jess park bubbly adds.
“LUNCH TIME!” ella exclaims as she skips ahead to the dining area with alessia.
leah offered to take you to lunch, showing you where the area was.
arriving, you look around. it’s huge, a massive buffet along the wall, selections of drinks and fancy seating. leah chuckles as she sees your eyes widen, taking in the area.
“let’s get some food, kid.” leah motions for you to follow her over to the buffet and passes you a plate, also grabbing one for yourself.
you put a little bit of pasta on and a bit of salad on the side.
“is that all you’re gonna eat, kid?” looking to your side, millie bright looks down at you, concerned.
shyly nodding, you look up at her, “i don’t eat a lot,”
what a lie. you love munching. so do i guys, i am not intending to f@tshame anyone by saying this, you’re perfect even if you’re thin or thick, don’t let anyone stop that💞 my dms are always open if you feel otherwise. feeling sad? ice cream makes you feel better. feeling happy? a pack of harribos makes you feel so much better.
but you don’t eat proper meals most the time, because you snack more. literally me.
“you’re eating with us, get some more food, we don’t judge,” millie says, putting more pasta on your plate, “leah has stacks of toast for breakfast, this is literally nothing!”
“oi!” leah turns, looking at millie with mocking offence.
lunch finished and the team had some personal time. some went up to their rooms to rest, others went to the pool and a couple went to call families. you decided to go up to your room so you could get a start on your school work. as you walk in, you look around the huge apartment-like hotel room.
placing yourself onto the huge, luxurious bed, you sigh, closing your eyes, relaxing for once and not having to always feel anxious around the other pro players.
getting up to go get your laptop, your phone lights up, a notification coming through. opening your phone, you see loads of notifications from friends, your club team mates, family, socials etc.
“1 message from ‘[friend]’: y/n, omg, how come you didn’t tell me you got called up?”
“9+ messages from ‘[your local club’s gc]’”
“instagram: soccerdonna have tagged you in a post”
furrowing your brows at the instagram notification, you open it seeing the post of you in your club kit with a green background, your full name, the club you play for, position and any other details about you including your age, titled ‘rumoured call up: for england senior team’
your call up wasn’t confirmed yet, as the media team decided to reveal it with the illegal trend.
you opened the comments to see many supporting you, hoping that this rumor is true and are blessing you to make your international debut at a young age in a senior team, however, your attention is drawn to the hateful comments,
“what does sarina see in her, she’s literally in a club no one knows about”
“they’ll get tired of her in a day tops”
“the lionesses are professional footballers, not professional babysitters”
“she should be in the kitchen, not on a pitch.”
tears prickled into your eyes as you kept scrolling through deeper into the comments. yes there were supportive comments, such as,
“stop she looks so cute!”
“awh bless her, i hope this is true, she deserves it!”
“she cooks on the pitch!”
“she’s gonna be england’s future!”
but the negativity always got to you.
“y/n, are you in here?”
the knocking and the voice behind the door shifts your attention off your screen,
“uh, yeah, one second” you breathe out, your voice cracking, quickly making sure you look okay and then open the door to be met with beth
“you’re late for training we wondered where y—” beth look at you, picking up at your glossy eyes, “you alright kid?”
nodding, you mutter a small ‘yes’ but she doesn’t push and instead takes you down to training.
sarina split the team into two teams for a mini match.
one’s red and the other’s blue. putting the red bib on, you stand with your team, opposite the blues.
standing in position, sarina blows the whistle and the game begins,
russo has the ball and passes it to aggie but gets tackled by mead who then dribbles the ball and passes it to jess park. unfortunate for jess, you’re able to take the ball back, getting it into the box but getting into an intense tackle with lucy bronze, you don’t desire to give up the ball. lucy, the lionesses’s most experienced and fiercest defender, almost makes you trip, but you instinctively grab her shoulder, balancing yourself and slightly tug her to the side, but because of how strong she is, the tug doesn’t impact her. you shield the ball away from her, but lucy’s cleaver, so she pokes her foot between the gap of your legs and pulls the ball towards her but you react swiftly, stepping around and regaining possession, almost tripping lucy up. you then take your chance and make it towards the goal and fire a powerful shot towards the net. cutting through the air, you fool hannah by your footwork, making her dive the opposite way whilst the ball hits the right side of the net.
goal.
you scored your first goal at the ‘mini match’ during training.
letting out a yelp, ella grabs you by your waist and effortlessly lifts you up and cheers your name.
“she’s really good,” alex says as she watches you get lifted up.
“sarina didn’t call her up for no reason.” leah responds
“keeping me on my toes, you are!” the chelsea goal keeper teases at you,
“not just you, did you see that tackle? that’s a proper piece of skill.” lucy adds, adding onto the teasing
time for media. you love media, it’s always fun. you’d get to do mini games, quizzes and even joke around with your fellow club mates.
the media staff decided that the announcement of your call up would be confirmed with a tiktok trend, specifically the “illegal” trend, aiming to connect with more of the younger generation to inspire them.
“y/n, are you ready?” one of the social media staff asks, phone in hand, watching you walk over with a couple other lionesses whilst fixing your hair quickly.
“yeah,” you softly respond.
after explaining to you and the other selected few players the plan, the same social media staff stands infront of you, “remember, kid, it’s okay if you mess it up.” he reasures you and then begins to count you down to three.
‘my name is pink and i’m really glad to meet you’
your dominant arm is out, taking the staff’s hand and shaking it on beat in full lioness kit.
‘you’re recommended to me by some people’
even though this isn’t your part, you still lip sync to it as you got instructed to do so but would be getting cut out and being replaced with the other lionesses.
‘hey! ooh, is this illegal?’
you then furrow your brows, shrugging slightly, just to act out the question at the end of the line.
‘hey! ooh, this feels illegal’
again, this isn’t your part, yet you do what you’re told and lip sync to it.
the recorder then stops the recording, praising you for how well you did, especially in one shot.
you try not to laugh, feeling quite embarrassed and sightly cheesed out about the awkwardness.
the recorder then turns to the other select few of lionesses and positions them so they can fit into the frame, making them do the exact same thing you did.
time for your first photoshoot.
“alright, y/n, your turn, kid.” the photographer looks at you, smiling and he gestures for you to come onto the backdrop.
you walk onto the set and sit onto the stool as told.
“right, kid, spread your legs shoulder width apart and put the football infront you, placing a foot on top of it,” catching the ball, you do as instructed and then look up for his next instruction, “good, now rest one arm onto your thigh, let the other one hang loose on your knee and lean in just a little bit, looking at the camera with a serious, competitive face.”
“that’s it, kid, stay like that.”
he snaps a few photos.
“kid, that came out so well,” the photographer praises, looking at the photos, “you’re a natural.”
looking down, you can help but shy away.
“right, next one,” he then looks up to you, “stand up please”
you get up and one of the staff comes onto the set. she takes the stool away.
“put the ball under your dominant arm and turn around, looking over your shoulder.”
once again, you do as you are told and lights flash as the photos are taken, followed by several more.
“which club are you at? i want to know if we’ve played against you and we haven’t realised.” grace asks you. it’s team bonding time. everyone’s in the common room, and you’re sat in the end of the sofa.
“i, er, play for (your local less known club)”
lucy looks at you with her brows slightly raised, clearly not expecting that, but also makes sense as she’s never played against you, “you’re way too good for that club, after the euros, higher profile clubs like chelsea would snap you up in a heartbeat”
“speaking of chelsea, you should come join,” the chelsea captain attempts to poach you, “you deserve to be there.”
you look at her, giving her a small smile and millie smiles back, adoring your shyness.
leah, the arsenal vice captain, can’t loose you to the rivals, so she tries getting you on her side, “kiddo, you’d look better in red.”
“ey, leave the poor child alone!” ella exclaims from beside you and puts her arm around you and pulls you closer, ruffling your hair gently, “she’s training here, not packing for chelsea or arsenal!”
the group erupts in laughter and your smile widens, you can’t help but enjoy, feeling so relaxed and free then ever and not feeling judged.
after the evening meeting, everyone made their way to their rooms.
you come out the shower and dry yourself, taking out your favourite body butter that you adore for not only being cheap and affordable so your parents don’t discipline you for spending too much money, but it leaves your skin feeling smooth and smelling amazing. putting a robe on, you begin to take your hair out of the towel, starting to blow dry your hair whilst singing to ‘practice’ by drake which plays on the speaker.
‘girl, you look good won't you back that ass up?’
your phone screen lights up as a notification appears so you pick your phone up.
‘england have tagged you in a post’
pressing the notification, tiktok opens up and you see the video. you turn off the hair dryer, completely focused on the video of you and the select few lionesses doing the illegal trend.
opening the comments, you begin to read through each one,
“useless player”
“waste of space”
“stop i’m so proud of you🥹💖”
“she deserves this!”
“she’s so talented, she’ll be getting offers from loads of high profile clubs after the euros”
you scroll through the comments, reading each one, focusing more on the hate than the positive comments once again. many defended you against the hate, claiming you don’t deserve it.
am i so bad?
you open up instagram, and see the post of yourself that your tagged in, captioned with ‘new addition: welcome to the pride, cub🦁❤️🤍”
the comments are the same, blooming with hate and love. you knew that when becoming a pro, hate would be common. but the feeling will never stop.
sighing, you turn off your phone, tossing it onto the bed, going back to drying your hair and doing your night routine.

↳ 𝓽𝔂𝓹𝓮 — fluff (platonic)

“tooney shush!” you giggle out to the city player, recording yourselves on a camera,
“me? shush?” grace replies, feigning her offence, “y/n, you're giggling the whole place down!”
both you and grace tiptoe through the corridors of the hotel, giggling at each other like drunk idiots.
“we’re gonna lock leah in the bathroom,” grace explains to the camera whilst you giggle, “but before anyone says anything, this was all y/n’s idea!”
“GRACE!”
now you both sneak into leah’s room, and you hear faint singing in the bathroom and water coming out the sink’s tap,
“oh we should sign leah up for britains got talent,” you snigger, and grace giggles at that.
“she’s coming out, hurry!”
now you both lock the door from the outside and then the door rattles,
“OI WHOS THERE?” the english captain yells from the other side and you can’t help it but laugh whilst grace tries shutting you up so you don’t expose yourselves
unfortunate for you, leah clocks you from your laughing, “Y/N, OPEN THE DOOR!”
“shit she’s clocked you!”
“stop i’m cooked”
“Y/N WHOS WITH YOU?” leah yells from the bathroom, “IS IT BETH?”
grace then bursts out laughing at the poor guess
leah then also clocks the city player, “CLINTON.”
“IT WAS Y/N’s IDEA” grace exclaims
“OFCOURSE IT IS,” the captain sarcastically yells through the door, aware of your mischievous antics, “KID, IF YOU DONT OPEN THE DOOR, YOU’RE GROUNDED.”
not wanting to be grounded during camp, a period that you love so much, you immediately opened the door, just to be met with the annoyed english captain, the camera turning to her,
“hi leah..”
grace bursts out laughing at your pour attempt of reasoning, and leah just shakes her head, “can’t believe you just pranked me by locking me in my bathroom—”
“wait how did you both get in…”
you and grace both look at each other, stifling your giggles again and then leg it out of leah’s room,

originally from a small town within the west midlands, y/n adapts a big passion within football, however, her family doesn’t agree with it, believing the game isn’t for girls like her, but instead for boys. living in a toxic household, it was always difficult to get her way.
it wasn’t until y/n’s pe teacher realised how skilful and passionate y/n was in sport — specifically football. she convinced her parents into getting her into her local football academy. due to her impeccable skills within the sport, y/n was able to make her debut from the U17s to the senior team of your local club at fifteen.
towards the end of her first season, she got a call-up from sarina wingman to become a lioness and have her first camp. she then makes her international debut at sixteen. after her first tournament within the lionesses, she receives many offers from big, well-known clubs — one being arsenal wfc, a club she has always looked up to at a young age. she then takes the offer and makes her awfc debut at sixteen.
