The Porta della Carta (1442) into Palazzo Ducale in Venice, Italy, carries a 19th century representation of Doge Francesco Foscari kneeling before the Lion of Saint Mark.
Finished! 10am on a weekend in May. Little square with clever garbage boat + dog clipped to resemble the Lion of Saint Mark. (St Mark’s lion is the emblem of Venice. Lions are therefore charmingly ubiquitous, as door knockers, statues, masks, wall plaques, and even dog topiary.)
