OUR TOUR FUNDRAISER STARTS FRIDAY JULY 19th!
THANK YOU (!) for supporting us as we prepare to go on a great adventure! We are trying to independently crowd-source $5,000 in one month to fund a national 75 day tour. For every contribution, we want to GIVE BACK to you, personally, through little things like handmade gifts.
WHAT IS OUR GOAL?
Our goal is to raise $5,000 and to give back to you for every dollar you contribute!
WHAT EXACTLY ARE WE RAISING MONEY FOR?
We will be traveling a 14,500 mile route, through 29 states and performing in over 60 cities and towns through out the entire United States and Eastern Canada.
About $3,500 or more of this budget will be going towards gas and mini-van maintenance (we’ll need 5 oil changes!).
About $1,500 will help cover other expenses such as food, border fees, toll-booths, making/ packaging CD’s, cassettes, t-shirts, and the fundraiser gifts (as well as the postage to send them). We are definitely not planning on making a profit on this tour. We just want to get out there to share what we do with people!
That said…
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
Overall, we want to bring people together into these songs via profound, connective experience. By recently exploring the depths of our individual artistry, songwriting and creativity, we have become infinite, harmonious reflecting pools for each other. This is PSYCHOADORABLE.
We want to spend 75 days straight encouraging folks everywhere to feel safe howling their guts out, or dancing their butts off, or writing a love letter, and/ or simply just being. This atmosphere is more important than anything.
We believe in this strange and beautiful collaboration and we want to go on a huge adventure to share it!
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS OURSELVES?
We believe we can raise $5,000 by using our own creative ingenuity! We want to personally reach out to you and really honor every penny you give. We will be using the online transaction service “PayPal" for those who would prefer a speedier credit/debit transaction versus snail mail. They do charge us about a 2.2% overall fee, but in our research, we’ve found this to be the safest, most inexpensive option for online transactions. Hurray!
YES INDEED, it would be easier to use Kickstarter.com to fundraise. Kickstarter is well known for being an exciting, and popular platform for all sorts of creative projects, but unfortunately, it also comes with a 10%-11% service fee that is taken from your hard earned cash and in the end, from our cause. For the $5,000 we are trying to raise, Kickstarter would keep at least $500! WHAT!? That’s a lot of money; that’s a lot of our friends’ hard earned generosity. Kickstarter is a wonderful tool that benefits artists and people all over the world, but it is just not for us this time around. We know that we have enough friends to make this thing happen. We’ll do it the hard way; we keep it real!
I HEARD SOMETHING ABOUT A SECOND ANNUAL GRAND YARD SALE?
Times are tough for everyone, and sometimes cash isn’t an option. (Trust us, we get it- we live in the back of a bingo hall) So for those who have a lot of junk layin’ around, and not a lot of cash to donate, we are hosting the second annual GRAND YARD SALE tour fundraiser! Last year was a great success- it was literally the biggest yard sale Kelsey had ever seen. We’ll be partying bigger this year (in a location TBA) AUGUST 2nd, 3rd, 4th !
How it works:
1. You gather up whatever items you want to rid yourself of, or in other words, donate.
2. We will arrange a time to come by and pick them up, or you can drop them off the day of the GRAND YARD SALE!
3. BAM! You just got rid of some junk AND helped us out!
OUR LIST OF BACKER/DONATION GIFTS TO BE POSTED SOON! STAY TUNED!
