‘THE TIME I THOUGHT OF YOU’ from luke
Felucia's humidity was blessedly merciful on the day he decided to have his two pupils spar with each other. Things had finally settled into a sort of truce between the two of them, and with their individual lessons on lightsaber forms going well he decided to have their skills put to the test against each other in a hopefully friendly and productive manner.
After getting comfortable in his seat on a nearby downed tree, Elias watched the two start to go at it and soon found himself beaming with pride at their progress. They'd both been capable enough fighters when they'd come to him, but they'd since grown in to truly competent duelists. Being a teacher in any capacity had never been anything even close to part of the plan for him before, but in that moment he couldn't recall a decision of his he was happier to have made.
That thought lead to him being reminded of the past opportunities to share his knowledge that he'd declined, and soon his attention was fully turned to the past. To a young man shouldering the weight of an entire galaxy's expectations and looking to Elias for guidance. To that same man, in lieu of an alternative, turning to the foolishness of those who had brought themselves to ruin and ultimately following their example all the way down.
Luke: the one who should have been first. Where once memories of Luke bore resentment, Elias could only look back at them with regret.
Before melancholy could take root, Elias was pulled back into the present by the voices and gentle chiding of those in his present, and his smile returned as he told them to get back to training.
