Thyme, Turmeric, and Milk Lip Scrub for Sensitive and Dry Lips

You can use this gentle but highly effective DIY turmeric lip scrub on all lip types year-round, especially in the winter.

Turmeric, a popular ingredient in Indian and Ethiopian cuisine, is a natural anti-oxidant used to treat hyperpigmentation and dark spots. Thyme, a natural remedy in Ethiopia, is used to treat lips, mouth, and throat conditions. It has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antifungal properties, helping lips stay healthy and reducing inflammation and infection risks. Both turmeric and thyme can help restore natural lip color and combat sun-damaged dull lips.

Goat milk is commonly used to treat skin conditions like psoriasis, contact dermatitis, and eczema due to its soothing properties and ability to gently exfoliate dead skin from lips, reducing dryness and irritation.

1 ½ teaspoon turmeric

1 teaspoon thyme

1 teaspoon of goat milk

In a grinder or food processor, grind dry turmeric and dry thyme (one at a time) until finely ground. Alternatively, you can use Organic Turmeric Root Powder and Ground Thyme. Mix the turmeric powder and thyme powder in a separate container. Once thoroughly mixed, add the goat milk until it forms a uniform paste. 

Gently rub the lip scrub into your lips and around your mouth. Rinse off carefully with room temperature water. 

Store the leftovers in a glass container and put the container in the fridge for a significant cooling effect with the following application.
