Hey peeps: thinking about supporting Pete Buttigieg? You might be interested to know that his campaign communications director is Lis Smith. She was the spokeswoman for the IDC ("Independent Democratic Caucus"), a group of Democrat-in-name-only legislators that stalled progessive legislation in NY state for years by defecting to vote with Republicans. The IDC was voted in 2018 (except one), so Smith now has time to paint Buttegieg as more progessive than his record actually shows. She also has time to bash Elizabeth Warren on Twitter, and was recently accused of building fake Twitter accounts of Black supporters for Mayor Pete, along with teasing Black celebrities that would endose him... which hasn't happened. The more you know!
