A/N: Here’s just a short, cute holiday themed Lisa piece! Super fluff! Enjoy! As always, my ask is open for suggestions, comments, ramblings, etc.

Tapping repeatedly on your girlfriend’s door, you couldn’t help but notice the “Welcome HO HO Home” welcome mat on the ground and holiday wreath on the door. It was a little bit early for holiday decorating, but you knew it was something Lisa was passionate about, so you didn’t really think twice about the premature decorations.
You didn’t really know what to expect after you received a “THIS IS AN EMERGENCY GET HERE NOW.” text from her but the way she yelled, “coming!” from the other side of the door let you know that yes, she was indeed still alive and well.
The door swung open and you chuckled at the sight in front of you. Lisa, dressed in an elf onesie, tangled up in some Christmas lights she must have been trying to unravel before your arrival. How she got in that state was a mystery to you.
“Merry Christmas!” She yelled out into the hallway, your finger rushing to shush her before her neighbors began peering out in search of the commotion.
“Lisa,” You pushed her inside, finger still against her lips as you kicked the door shut behind you, “It’s November 1st.”
She shrugged. “It’s never too early to let you jingle my bells.” She said casually. Your eyes widened at the innuendo.
She smirked at your shocked expression and enthusiastically continued.
“I’m decorating for Christmas, babe!” and you didn’t really need to question it any longer. You all needed some extra holiday cheer after this mess of a year, and if it meant decorating for the holidays way before the holidays were set to arrive, so be it.
“Oh! Babe come here!” She exclaimed and pulled your hand until the both of you were standing underneath the door frame to the kitchen.
When you looked at her in confusion, she pointed upwards. You followed her hand to see mistletoe hanging above the two of you. Wordlessly, she leaned in for a quick peck before dragging you over to sit at the table.
“Ok wait, I have more. I made you some special hot chocolate…” her words drifted off as she turned to pick up two mugs from the counter, popping a candy cane in each one. She placed one on the table in front of you and one in front of her as she continued, “with Christmas cheer!”
She sat across from you, beaming, and when you looked down you realized both mugs had “Mrs. Claus” written across them in a loopy script. You both fell into a comfortable conversation; catching up about your week, asking Lisa why she was in such a festive mood. After half of your hot chocolate was gone, Lisa abruptly stood, grabbed her mug and started walking towards the living room, not even sparing a glance over her shoulder as she spoke.
“Hey, come help me with the Christmas tree! I’ve had these lights tangled for hours and haven’t been able to do anything else.” Which you concluded might’ve been the reason for the “emergency” text, even though you’ve been here for almost an hour and she’s said nothing about them until now.
“What’s in it for me?” You shout from your spot at the table, taking another sip of your drink.
Lisa peeked her head around the corner just to tell you that if you help her there’s a pretty good chance that she’ll let you “ride her sleigh” later. You didn’t need any motivation to help her, you were going to do it anyways, but if you did, that would do it, you thought. The holiday themed euphemisms were a new side of Lisa that you were enjoying more than you’d like to admit.
You got up and headed to the living room, spotting Lisa standing in the middle of the room still trying to rid herself of the Christmas lights she was somehow wrapped in. You didn’t even want to ask.
A crackling fire flickered behind her on the television and holiday music flowed softly out of the speakers. The scent of sugar cookies hit your nose and you looked over to find the culprit: a lit candle on the coffee table with some holiday themed name like “the night before christmas”. It might’ve only been November 1, but you absolutely loved this.
You hadn’t always been one for holidays. Growing up, your family didn’t have much and your celebrations were nothing exciting. Sure, it taught you that there was more to life than material possessions, but you never really had anything to look forward to. Not holidays, not birthdays, seemingly living every day just as mundane as the last. Until you met Lisa, that is.
Meeting Lisa was like coming up for air after feeling like you were drowning for so long. She showed you new perspectives, introduced you to new things, and made you genuinely look forward to living life. All of these feelings and emotions were new and exciting to you.
You knew better than to rely on another person for your happiness, but you had tried it alone for so long that you were beginning to lose yourself in the monotony. So, you let yourself become wrapped up in Lisa. She made every day, even the most mundane ones, feel special and surprising and you were excited to wake up in the morning when in the past you’d been everything but.
She made every birthday, every holiday (even the made-up ones), and every anniversary, no matter how small, feel exciting. You loved life with Lisa.
You stood for a while, taking everything in. There was nothing in this moment that you wanted to forget. Sure, to anyone else it was a pretty low key night. You two weren’t really doing anything except putting up some Christmas decorations, but this was more than you were used to and you wanted to remember every second.
Lisa, noticing you weren’t responding to her ramblings, looked up to find you with a goofy smirk staring back at her.
“What? Is there something on my face?” Her face morphed into a pout and she raised her hands to touch her face, trying to find the “something” in question.
You shook your head and laughed, bringing yourself back to reality.
“No, Lisa, you look great.”
You stepped forward, placing your mug on the table and taking her hands in yours.
“I love you.” And although you’ve said it to her countless times before, you couldn’t help but be in love with the way she melted into your arms every time. You were addicted.
“I love you too.” She responded and placed her head in the crook of your neck. You wished you could stay like this with her forever, but after a few seconds, she shot up.
“Oh, wait!” She exclaimed, and before you could even respond, she continued. “I got you a matching onesie!”
She left you in the living room as she went to go find the outfit, yelling from the other room, “If you wear this, I’ll make sure you’re on Santa’s nice list tonight!”
You laughed, and you basked in this moment. You wouldn’t want life to be any other way.
